My Acer 4530-5267 has the Nividia 9100M G. I was able to install the GeForce drivers into Win7 by pointing Device Manager at a folder containing the Vista x86 GeForce drivers I had extracted with
Driver Max from my dual booted Vista x86 HP install. So both my Vista and Win7 installs are running GeForce v7.15.11.7748 (12/17/08), which I recently downloaded by running Windows Updates on my Vista install.
I was unable to download updated graphics nor chipset drivers form the Nvidia site. Nvidia is directing driver requests to Acer, who is just plain bad with driver updates... I did manage to find some Vista drivers on the
Acer UK site. Most of these drivers are not current, but I did hit pay dirt with the chipset drivers I found there, NV v17.05... Installing these drivers into Win7 got a couple of system items running (coprocessor and one other), that were neither OOB nor Windows Update-able... Also, I had the same issue others did with Realtek audio drivers.. I grabbed Realtek v6.0.1.5624 from Acer UK to replace MS OOB drivers.
As far as Win7 x64 goes... Acer does not seem to think they have any reason to support anything but Vista x86 on the 4530. Perhaps I will make an image of my Win7 x86 install and try x64 again after a while, but on my first attempt I was unable to find x64 Geforce drivers and the OOB drivers did not run Aero smoothly at all. Not wanting to relive my experience trying to get graphics drivers for XP on this thing, I just gave up right away and went with Win7 x86.
