Hi,

I just made a wonderfull discovery and wonder if other have made the same discovery.
I start playing WoW in august. Started a warrior with Mining/Blacksmithing. Didnt make very much money so when I was closing in in the 40s i only had 30 gold so I decided to make an alt.

This alt was a mage with skinning/herbalism and was supposed to be a pure moneymaker and boy was he a moneymaker. First thing I found out was that herbs on the horde side (dont know how it is on alliance) are very easy to come by. Herbs are everywhere and they sell relatively easy. Not only is it easy selling the herbs but I also found out that Swiftthistle in pack of 20s sells for around 6-8G. WHat stunned me even more is that if you take a strolla long the coast of Ratchet you find some stranglekelp. Start swimming in ratchet, follow the coast down south and you have some stranglekelp. Takes about 20 minutes and 20s of stranglekelp goes for an easy 6G. There are other herbs that probably sell for way more but my alt is only lvl 26 atm but already made 50G And then I have bought EQ every 3rd level and bought all my skills.

Any others noticed the same thing? Not saying ZOMG nerf herbalism FTW!!!oneoneeleventyeleven!!11 But that it is very very easy making money with herbalism compared to other professions?

isnt it hard to collect higher lvl hersb on a lower lvl alt? i mean you cant just go in there and steal them all, a lot are surrounded by baddies

Good selling herbs:
Kingsblood (because of repeatable faction quest)
Swiftthistle (because of thistle tea and sprint potion)
Briarthorn (sprint potion)
Fadeleaf (invis potions and blinding powder)
Wildvine (wildvine potions and used in several other tradeskill recipes)
Strangekelp (underwater breathing potions)
Mountain Silversage (major healing potions and elixir of mongoose)
Plaguebloom (major healing potions and elixir of mongoose)
Ghost Mushroom (used in several recipes...in alcha and other tradeskills)

Currently it seems that Kingsblood is the highest grossing of all the herbs, followed by Mountain Silversage.

Some other popular herbs would be what is used in Major mana potions and the Exilir of Agility potions (can not remember ingredients off top of my head).

Kingsblood and Strangekelp are probably going to tank. I wouldn't rely on them. Even in the first week after patch they were both down by quite a lot. Used to be 8g for 20 kingsblood and now it's 3-4g. They added quests to turn in iron and heavy leather for thorium.

Stragekelp isn't quite as bad. But they added a lot more spawn points (or at least more frequent spwaning) so it's not as hard to come by as it was before.

There are some high level potions that require a lot of gromsblood, icecaps, black lotus. All of those are decent sellers too.

I make the most money disenchanting items I buy off the auction house and then reselling the materials. I can make 80-100g a weekend in less than three hours of game time.

Plus I can mail myself items to be enchanted that aren't soulbound or I can provide my own materials for enchants.

I do have herbalism on my level 60 warrior but I use just for making potions for myself and my guild mates.

What items do you buy to disenchant? i've found few that seem worth more in d/e parts. i know some blue items d/e into shards but they usually cost the same or more than the going rate for that shard.

My guild uses dreamfoil by the truckloads. Fire pot potions for rag, arcane elixers (gg rag at 33% before first sons) and I believe the mongoose potions for our rogues. Definitely the most use herb at higher levels, luckily its very abundant.

Mostly armor but I look for certain level items and bid on only the items that are listed for less than I am willing to pay. I'll admit most dusts sell for less than the item costs but I also get essences that I make most of my profit on.
