Sadly I'm not sure if its a joke or not as I have seen other guys act this way before. The fact that she's into nascar uhh kinda discredits you a bit. When you've never been in love you dont really know what love is and your infatuations while strong initially really seem like love. Back in school when we were younger that first love how long did it last? Most peoples probably last a week (jr high) or 3 months (high school) those are actually serious relationships for the time.

regarding saliva smelling, it's normal. however, it's from eating/drinking/or morning breath. after you brush your teeth and gargle, it shouldn't smell till you put something in your mouth or you haven't opened it for a while.
