I know there are endless threads of this nature. I would really appreciate some advice from experience with watercooling though, as I do not want to miss the mark for my setup, or go overboard, I have a tendency to do such

I've read the stickies and lurked around other forums on watercooling.

I want to watercool the rig in my sig. The system is in a HAF 932 case, and ideally, I'd like to keep the case, but I'm willing to get something else, if I did switch, my preference would be for the 800D.

I've been checking out setups and looking at some online shops. I really appreciate simplicity and function in most things, I realize two loops would likely be recommended for my rig, but was curious if I could effectively use one killer loop, which appeals to me more.

If that is possible, what pump, rad, fans etc, and blocks would make that a reality ?

thanks in advance

well if the other thread meets your budget, thats about the easiest package you can get to install a custom h2o setup.

if you want something a bit more customized for your preference... we would need more info.

mainly budget..

As others have found out quickly, you can spend 100 dollars in just fittings alone to make it look nice.

Budget would be about $600 CND dollars, but could go a bit higher. If I were to go with the have both build from your info thread (many thanks!) My guess is that I would need to get a better rad ?

I would be cooling an i7 920 that runs at 4.2 with 1.3V and two GTX 480s, that are not receiving additional voltage.

If I were to switch out the rad in that setup for one of these with additional suitable fans:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...re=Feser%20One
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...re=Thermochill

Would that work ? Would the pump be sufficient and a single loop capable of delivering decent temps ?

Oh as for blocks, I was thinking two of these for the 480s

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Koolance

and this for the cpu, as listed per your guide

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Swiftech

I'm not too concerned with looks, I would probably go blue tubing though such as this, rather than the listed tubing in the guide

Many thanks

well i used that block because the Koolance - 360 wasnt available @ the store.

I am a fan of the Koolance-360 series.
With a custom injector it is the best block per vapors tests.

@ NCIX:

Ncix is great, linus is awesome at customer support.

Will that TC rad fit inside your case?
A 140x3 radiator a freaken big.... almost obnoxiously big.

I was looking at that koolance cpu block as well, I will have to take a second look.

That is a good question on the rad, per thermochill's site it is 142 x 480 x 60mm which is a fair size

The feser is smaller, but seems pricey compared to everything else I look at, not sure why it costs so much.

The only other options for a triple fan rad is

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...cture=Swiftech

Perhaps if I used the above rad for the two 480s and stacked it with one of these:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=39002&vpn=MCR220-QP-STACK&manufacture=Swiftech

for my cpu ?

I'm not clear on exactly how that works though, wouldn't that still qualify as one loop. So two loops I would need to get an additional pump etc ? I was hoping to avoid that situation.

Perhaps this double fan rad would work ?

The feser costs that much because its pure copper.

LOL....

Dual loops, usually is used when you got an insane heat load attached to the cpu and your after the lowest cpu temps.

Example in what would merit a dual loop is 480GTX on SLI. Or a heat load equivillant to it.

2 HD5870 you can probably get away with a single loop, but 3 and your asking for a temperature gradient inside your loop.

I am actually cooling 2 480s in SLI and an i7 920... sooo I was hoping there was a viable solution on a single loop.

Am I annexed to strictly using two loops with my setup, or is there a solution that would work in a single loop ?

edit: Did some more research, how is this for a setup, the loop would run as such:

res>pump>rad1>CPU>rad2>GPU1>GPU2>res

my thoughts on the hardware

rad1:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Swiftech

rad2:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Swiftech

reservoir:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...ure=Primochill

pump:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Swiftech

gpu blocks :

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Koolance

cpu block:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Koolance

fittings:

2 of these for gpu blocks

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...cture=Koolance

tubing:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...ure=Primochill

or

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...ure=Primochill

I believe this should manage to do the system properly ???

Anyone ever run two vid cards in a parallel loop instead of serial to prevent a thermal differential between the cards? You'd just have to calculate the tubing cross-section to be appropriate to maintain good flow characteristics.

As i said in that thread, i prefer the F style over the other style.

Unless you got 300W + on the same loop, i would always recomend you going single loops.

300W is where you'll start seeing a temperature gradiant inside your loop, unless you have more flow.
More flow, the higher capacity of holding.

In a typical loop, id like the water to be no hotter then 1C from the inlet and outlet of your radiator.
