Ebay Trust and Safety Forum
Hello everyone. I have been with ebay for a while now. Saturday afternoon I received a wholesale list from a friend of mine. He showed me how I could sell the lists on ebay. Before this took place I had a feedback rating of 6 (all positive). Selling the wholesale list seemed a little unethical, but I embarked upon this journey because I know there were people out there who would pay good money for the lists. So I created around 40 total auctions featuring top of the line computers, monitors, and things like that. You can view these items by looking at my ID info. My auctions featured detailed descriptions of the computers and other computer equipment that would be available on the wholesale lists. In the description for the auction, I made sure to include the note that the auction was for a wholesale list that features that specific product, not the product/unit itself. While I know the note was perhaps difficult to find because of the extremely high amount of detail that was used to describe the product, I also know that it is a part of eBay policy that bidders make absolutely sure of what they are doing BEFORE they bid. Due to the fact that I found out today that i will be unable to be at my computer when the auctions end, I decided to end the auctions early to ensure i was here to see the end of the auctions. After this took place i was FLOODED with emails telling me how i was a horrible and deceitful person. I have been told there is a group of bidders who are going to attempt to make sure I am punished by eBay. My reason for posting this message is this...How is it even possible for me to get in trouble for what I have done? If we wanted to go by eBay's rules and policies, every single person that won one of my auctions would be forced to pay me because of the legally binding contract (their bid). Someone please explain WHY these people are freaking on me. When I close an auction and their is a high bidder, I expect to be paid. The most outrageous thing about this is, I have a ebay balance of -$578.96 due to the final value fees of all these auctions. While I do understand how someone could complain about how they messed up and dont want to pay, I dont understand how people are trying to take legal action against me. Im curious to see what the rest of you eBayers think. Thanks everyone.
