My tentative reply:
Regardless of what your auction states, Ebay/Paypal does not allow an additional fee to be assesed in the use of Paypal for payment. You can either ship the item that I won and paid for or I will post negative feedback and alert Ebay/Paypal about your auction(s) that are in violation of their rules.
This will be my only communication on this subject.
I don't think you need to say much more than this. Perfectly written. You can't charge extra for paypal. And don't post BS about reasonable handling fees, he explicitely says the extra fees are to pay for paypal.
Ok so... what is the paypal fee 3%?? 4%?? whatever it is. If I were to sell an item and charge a 3% or 4% handling fee (NOT a paypal fee just handling) would that make you happier?
Yep, though it would likely have to be a fixed fee, rather than a %, which would start getting into violation of ebay's rule of trying to get out of paying their fees.
What I don't understand is everybody's sympathy to big companies. Everybody always cries about people downloading pirated music which screws the RIAA, people downloading pirated movies which screws the motion picture association. DO you people even work for these companies. Jesus man, it looks like a lot of these people have no problem throwing out money for stupid principles.
Point being, if you don't like something don't buy it! If people want to sell stuff, for a higher price, whether it be a higher shipping cost, a higher handling cost, or a higher buy it now cost. DON'T BUY IT if you are gonna complain afterwards that you don't wanna pay those higher costs!
Every post you make just makes you look more of a retard.
What is so hard to understand? OP is not complaining about a handling fee or high shiping charges. He is complaining about something that is not in agreement with Paypal's TOS. As a seller, you cannot state that an addition 3% or whatever % must be added if paying by paypal. It is AGAINST PAYPAL'S TOS.
Yes, you can say handling fee of $xxx or x%, but you can't say it's mentioned for paypal fees. Since the seller said that the fee was for paypal, the OP does not need to pay for it. It doesn't matter if the OP stated the paypal additional charge, it is clearly against Paypal TOS.
Also, your claim of ppl being sympathetic to a big nasty company doesn't make sense. So what if the OP decides to pay the extra %, now the buyer is out extra money. If he doesn't pay it, the seller is out that %. Either way you look at it, Paypal will win. So what would you rather have as the buyer? Of course you wouldn't want to pay more.
Yeesh, it's not that hard to understand 'envy me'.
