Gore Used Fictional Video to Illustrate ?Inconvenient Truth?

It goes without saying that climate realists around the world believe Nobel Laureate Al Gore used false information throughout his schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" in order to generate global warming hysteria.

On Friday, it was revealed by ABC News that one of the famous shots of supposed Antarctic ice shelves in the film was actually a computer-generated image from the 2004 science fiction blockbuster "The Day After Tomorrow." [audio available here]

Adding delicious insult to injury, this was presented by one of ABC's foremost global warming alarmists Sam Champion during Friday's "20/20"

Anyway... yet another wonderful finding showing what a mockumentary that piece of crap is. The Loose Change guys look almost credible compared to this fraud.

I don't see how this is Al Gore's fault. I can't imagine he was responsible for gathering all the footage used in the film, or that he knowingly used copyrighted, CGI footage.

I could agree with you if Gore was truely trying to get people to "study" it. Instead he presents "unproven" science as fact in an attempt to drown out anybody really trying to "study" and question his made up findings.

Oh and on the side sells carbon credits to those he guilts with his lies. Which is the ultimate slap in the face for anybody who believes what he spews.

What is there to gain by bashing on Gore? Last I checked, he isn't running for office.

But I think it is fair game to challenge the documentary he championed, particularly if it used fabricated footage for emotional impact...intentional or otherwise.

I applaud Gore for elevating the environment as a topic for debate...but the use of fictional footage in a documentary...there is some irony, and humor, in that discovery, even if it wasn't intentional...to an extent, it places AIT at the Michael Moore la la land end of the spectrum.

If you look at the clip thats used its just a flyby describing what the area up there looks like. It was not footage showing destruction or anything detrimental. It was basically the same thing as showing a CGI tree and saying " there are trees, they are brown and have green tops" People are just looking for stuff to try and cloud the subject matter instead of actually confronting the subject matter. Watch for this ploy, its fairly common. Same way that every discussion of Michael Moore starts with him being fat. Why discuss the subject when you can smeer the messenger...
