I watched the video. Have you ever been shot? Imagine you were. Now imagine that the person who you believe shot you is STILL NOT UNDER CONTROL AND IS STILL ACTIVELY RESISTING ARREST. Meanwhile each SECOND THAT passes by, you get weaker as you bleed out. A SIGNIFICANT percentage of police fatalities occur in situations like this.
I do not give the police a pass. I think the evidence in this particular incident tends to exonerate the police. They could have easily been killed in this incident if the perp had been able to get the gun turned on them.
If the victim had quit resisting, I would agree that the killing was unjustified.
I find it amazing that a cop gets seriously wounded in an arrest of an armed suspect and that is not enough to justify lethal force. So what is the standard? A cop has to get killed before lethal force can be used?
PRO-TIP: I don't believe the victim was black in this instance. Why are you dragging race into it?
