To get started, let all games be paused 1 level behind the first game. That way you can watch the first game intently. If you like what happened, while it is paused, play the other 7. Then pause them all and repeat.

If you don't like what happened, you can instantly try 8 different strategies, one right after another.

The worst part is listening to 8 slightly delayed Orbitz commercials play at the same time (if you use the online version).

If you have a really new computer, there's this great new feature called M-U-T-E. It automatically blocks the annoying sounds that the internet throws at you.

Or if you have a new sarcasm meter, you could try turning it on yourself.

Interesting approach, im going to try that sometime. I usually completely ignore the purple ones. The speed level at 34 or 35 usually gets me and I usually have one life left after it.

I have been using a mixture of interest up to 9-12% and then start adding the damage multipliers, but i cant keep cash long enough to get any real benefit from the interest.

Probably wont play tonight, but Ill take a screen shot next time.

the down side of using the purple ones is that the power is cut off with the blue vectoids. That's why with the red, i could pas level 39 (blues). But again, red rocket is expensive and slow; that's why we cant use only red rockets for the quick yellows. I dont think we can beat this map any time soon...

In very crude terms, someone above has done a much better analysis:

You basically get points proportional to the hit points of the creatures you kill. This is about 1/3rd of the points in the game.

You also get points proportional to the interest you receive. This is about 2/3rds of the points in the game. If your interest you receive is low, you can win the game with a low score.

so did you beat it? I haven't got time to go back to it anymore.

I haven't played it since the other night, and I couldn't make it past level 40. I think if on level 35 I had taken 5 extra lives instead of another damage tower that I would have had enough to make it to level 41. I don't see how to make it farther than that though.

I found closest to be best in almost all cases. However, When I make my first Red level 3 tower, I set that to hard as it's much stronger then anything else. My weaker towers (before I sell them) I set to weakest if they are a lot weaker then my other towers.

Beat it.

Is it possible to do without upgrading to the heavy hitter turrets, though? Kind of stinks if that is the only way to win. I have tried various interlocking patterns of upgraded smaller and medium towers, but it just doesn't work.

Before I get into my little tutorial, I'll give a few general suggestions that can be used for any map. All of my towers seem to do better when set to "close". The only time I change this is for the Hard Grey levels, when I set some or all of them to "hard". Interest is added the moment you click "Send the Vectoids". I always wait until after clicking that to spend money so that I don't miss out on that extra bit of interest. Another thing to note is that the amount of money you have at the end of level 50 does not affect your score. Therefore, you can spend like crazy AFTER you hit "Send the Vectoids" for the last time.

Anyways, I played the Switchback map last night, leaked only once, scored 16,125,617, and wound up third on the daily leaderboard. This is by no means a perfect score, and I saw a lot of opportunities to do things better. However, I noted what towers I used at certain levels and took screenshots to show where I placed them.

This spreadsheet shows what towers I used for each level. The 1, 2, 3 at the top notes which tier the tower is, and the number in the cell shows what level that tower is. 2x10 placed under Red 3 would mean that there are two level 10 Red Rockets. I tried to take screenshots every time I purchased a tower to show its placement. If the screenshot shows a different level than what I list it as, it just means that I didn't take the screenshot until the level after I purchased the tower.

One change I would definitely make is to place the Red Rocket in level 28 2-3 spaces higher. I would've been able to hit the guys at the top a lot sooner that way.

Actually, I had just (finally) finished school. I went from working full time and going to school full time to just working full time. I had so much free time compared to before that I didn't know what to do with myself (other than play stupid flash games )
