You and a friend need a router? Here's a deal for ya...

Outpost.com has the SMC Barricade 4-port Router for $115 - $20 MIR = $95

Now, outpost.com accepts flooz, and flooz.com has a deal going (until 2/13)...

If you are a first time sender of flooz and send $50 of flooz, you get $15 back in your own account. So if you hook up with a friend, and send them $50 and have them send you $50, then each of you end up with $65. If you both then add $50 to your own accounts, then you're each up to $115 (which happens to be enough to buy the router ).

So, each of you spend $100 out of pocket - $20 MIR = $80 router.

I know, it's convoluted, but $80 for this router is not bad.

Seems to be quite a hassle. Chapters.ca has the SMC Barricade 4-Port 10/100 Autosensing Switch and Router for $140, you can order it from there and it'll be just a little more expensive.

Don't mean to be rude but how is $140 a good price for the router? Thats almost DOUBLE the price that Domination posted... Or is that in Canadian dollars? ... If so then I don't know what the going exchange rate is to compare

If you don't want to deal with the flooz, outpost.com still beats that price @ $95.00 after rebate with free overnight shipping. ($115 shipped before rebate)

If you don't want to deal with the flooz or the rebate, NECXDirect.com has the router for $105.90 shipped via UPS Ground ... Although I think I'd prefer to spend $10 more for the free overnight shipping and wait on the rebate, but thats just me.

Noone has mentioned this yet, but you can get a 5% rebates from eBates and another 5% rebates with a Wingspan Visa. That will save another $11.50. Of course it wont work with the flooz but its easier. Final Price: $115 - $20 - $11.50 = $83.50.

Great first post, Domination. I used your suggestion, and since we entered through ebates, we've got another 5% rebate coming our way...our total price after the MIR and ebates comes to under $75 shipped overnight. For a router/switch with print server with great reviews I have read, this is definitely what I would call a hot deal. Thanks for the suggestion. We were about to order them for the $95 after rebate when I found your post, and the post reminding me about ebates saved us even more. Anandtech forum saves me a bunch again!

Thanks again Dommination for your hot deal idea. Got my $75 SMC router yesterday and had it up and running last night, and my brother-in-law got his also. Outstanding unit. No change in my speeds, print server works great, and everything was a snap to set up. They may have cut the corners in the router case and the packaging (only unit, cable, quickstart card, and CD with print server drivers and softcopy of manual), but not on performance. And it runs so much cooler than my old Netgear dual speed hub also. I was leaning towards the SMC because of the printer driver, but your extra savings tip made the choice easy.
