You are moving to a foreign country.

An interesting discussion some friends & I had last night. Thought I'd see whats the opinions of ATOT.
The question is just as it states.
1. You are moving to another country. Presumably this move is permanent.
2. You are not fleeing because of a crime.
3. Do not let a language barrier influence your decision. Assume you can easily learn the local language.

Where would I move? Probably to Australia. From everything I heard chatting over the net with people who live there its a great place. Fairly low crime. Sane gun laws. Large open country to explore. Great beaches. And almost no F'n illegals.

Edit: Some interesting responses so far. However some people are not putting down why they would choose these countries. Give us a why people!

Australia makes sense in that it seems to be the most conservative English speaking nation outside the US

otherwise perhaps Iceland

Been there, done that. I've been in Mexico (Cancun area) for about 12 years, but I may not end up staying here too much longer - it's getting too crowded here these days. Now to figure where I want to go next.

Canada. More snow, more wilderness. Currently live in Minnesota, wouldn't trade it for anything!

France, one of my goals is to finish learning French but its so goddamn hard to get permission to work there and the only French-speaking nations of the world don't have many opportunities for foreigners either.

Germany or Austria

I've been to both and I think they're great countries. I like the language, people are laid back, scenery is beautiful, architecture and history is interesting (some parts notwithstanding, of course). There's skiing, the autobahn, and good health care.

Possibly Switzerland also because they're a little more reasonable on their gun laws.....I think.

Why anyone would cite that as a reason to live somewhere is beyond me.

I'd probably move to Sweden. I'm a half Swede and it is a beautiful country with nice friendly people. My Mom has been there a few times and we have distant relatives there.

Because I have several firearms & enjoy hunting with them & target shooting. Plus sentimental attachment to my Grandfather's shotgun & rifle. Good enough?
