From the 1980s:

Per-capita the United States is the only developed country with this disgusting level of murder.

Have you considered poverty rate? Have you considered ethnic heterogeneity? Have you considered the thousands of other issues that go into this?

No, just blame it on gun legislation.

That's ONE case, can we count on large-capacity magazines to fail as a protective measure??, if this nutjob went to that school unarmed do you really think he could kill 20 kids and 6 adults in less than 5 minutes with his bare hands?

If he would have used explosives, he could have done it in one second.

If he would have killed a 100 people over the course of several years with an axe, would that make you feel better? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikolai_Dzhumagaliev

how do you know what it was meant? the supreme court seems to think it means what gun owners think it means. who are you to go against the supreme court?

why are you you calling gun owners crazies? what makes them crazy? i don't get it. you have this irrational fear of guns just like every anti i have ever seen. have you ever handled a gun? shot a gun? I'm guessing not.

You have crazies voting. Crazies vote in crazies (e.g. the ninja vagina that attacks sperm).

These crazies then have a role in getting other people who share their views appointed to the Supreme Court.

Hardly a model of jurisprudence. The fact that there are 'liberal' and 'conservative' appointees is disgusting and not at all a model of jurisprudence.

Has everyone talking about guns ever used one? Hopefully.

(besides the people who say they own one obviously)

These figures are just as bad today. This shows it is a continuous problem and not something that has happened recently.

There is a sick mindset among some Americans and this is the evidence of it.

Well you cherry pick handgun deaths only, and we have the most handguns, so derp.

Definitely not, which is why it angers me somewhat: people who are anti-gun usually have never used, held, or even seen a gun, nor have they be educated about responsible gun use and ownership. Usually, their only exposure to firearms have been through the media, whether it be TV, films, video games, etc.

There is such as thing as fair, fact-based gun control.

The emotionally charged, knee-jerk gun control policy that is usually proposed (and it seems, advocated by many on these boards), is NOT that.

No shit. That's the point. These handguns shouldn't be out there.

Ordinary citizens should not have access to tools of mass murder which even an infant can use.

That infringes on the security of the person for others. By giving people the right to own guns you are reducing the personal security of others.

I don't like giving out rights that remove other peoples rights.

When I hear the words "gun-control", what does that mean? An outright ban on handguns? Ban on all guns?

The inventory of firearms in the United States is so much higher than that of other countries that I don't believe anyone can point to another country and talk about their gun related homicide statistics. I don't think we can compare countries to the United States at all. Our culture is different, specifically gang culture, and the situations are just not comparable.

I do see the rational of thinking that some of these people would not be able to murder so many people if they couldn't get a gun....but do you think they would just give up and not do anything? Is it not possible that they just make a few pipe bombs instead?

Some of the most peaceful places on Earth are also the least "diverse." This isn't a coincidence.

People are tailored by nature itself to trust and feel more comfortable around people like themselves.

So we can either take measures to scale back diversity, try fruitlessly to get rid of guns (and even if we succeeded other lethal methods would be used), or just accept the rate of violence having such a diverse country entails and be glad it's not higher.

Most realistic is the last one.

One of the most disgusting things about shootings like what happened here in CT yesterday is how much power those crazy murderous fucks have. The power to end so many lives so quickly. To ruin so many other lives with so much sorrow and loss.

The last thing I'm interested in doing is giving these fuckers even MORE power which is what you do when you let their rare, isolated actions impact the freedoms and lives of the entire nation.

So fuck that.

I sure hope that there is a MAJOR change in the way guns are bought and registered..if guns arent registered, I would like to see them removed and detroyed from the owners no matter what country you live in

I sure hope that there is a MAJOR change in the way computers are bought and registered..if computers arent registered, I would like to see them removed and detroyed from the owners no matter what country you live in

i mean why not? people use them for all nefarious purposes - child porn, theft, prostitution, drug sales, scamming, hate crimes, etc.

Considering how many drunk drivers kill people a year, why don't they talk about banning alcohol?

Just one question. Which is more likely to be shot? Man that has a gun in his home or the man that doesn't?

Homicide rate per 100,000 people:
LIST OF THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES

That's cool bro.

I'm glad to see you think of the United States' ranking so highly as to enjoy when it is listed beside Cuba and Mongolia.

What a high bar you set for your country to aspire to.

Yea the list of cherry picked countries in your list was very comprehensive as well. The anti-gun nuts never want a reasonable big boy talk about statistics and just go for shock effect. Your picture is 100% stereotypical. And you were like "AHA this will get them!"

Hilarious. You have no idea how stereotypical it is of the gun control guys to use statistics like that.

What percent of those are on purpose I'm wondering? When was the last mass car running over spree that killed 20+?

Not saying ban guns or anything at all. Do what you want to do. Just pointing out a huge flaw in the whole car more dangerous than gun thing.
