I hate this PC stuff as well, it's gotten ridiculous. Especially with the whole gender stuff, the stuff is what was joked about before and now it's actually real. Like the idea that on forms there is actually an "other" option in some cases. Or the whole idea that people can identify as another gender. Give me a break.

I love that Mayne can start a thread about nothing and it'll go on for days.

Here's the situation.

But first, an analogy. What the hell is all this "man" and "woman" stuff, people pretending there are so-called "genders"? There are "people". No need for "man" and "woman".

Now, that sounds ridiculous to you right? There clearly are such things as men and women and gender is a legitimate distinction?

But that's how YOU sound to people who understand what "sexual preference" is, and "gender identity".

This is all about ignorance - and sorry, that means yours. So you think that those things are a lot of nonsense about nothing and annoying and there's no point.

I'll bet money, YOU don't have a gender identity that is the opposite of your biological identity. I'll bet YOU aren't homosexual.

Such things are real. They've just been mostly hidden and suppressed for millennia, and so it seems like they're some new fad being 'invented' for them to be recognized.

That's why there were such things as gay parades - to make the point - hey, people in denial and ignorance, there are actually gay people. See them?

So, this is about YOU becoming less ignorant - and having the accurate descriptions of people go from annoying invented nonsense into things as legitimate as "man" and "woman".

Or, at least SOME tolerance and understanding on your part not to want to vote in an utter idiot as president who will move the country further to plutocracy, just because you are so easily
manipulated by con men that you vote for anyone who says 'ya, all this PC, sucks doesn't it?' That's all your vote means to you. That makes you a bad citizen - if you fall for that.

How about, get educated?

Why not start here:

I would have absolutely loved gender fluidity in high school. "I'm feeling a bit girly today so I'm going to go shower with the girls." "What, the erection? Biological gender is not the same as identity gender so I'm good with it."

I love political correctness. It just makes it easier to spot the morons crying about their bigoted views being called out on that has nothing to do with being politically correct. Gender identity and recognizing it has nothing to do with political correctness. Sorry, you're just a moron.

Well fortunately I'm not a politician so I don't have to be politically correct.

How many of you actually run into this IRL on a regular basis?

I see it a lot on the Internet, but in-person, like 99% of the people I run into are pretty chill.

PC just took words and made them more palatable.

George Carlin did a whole thing on it.

like shellshock ---> battle fatigue ----> PTSD

It is real. Why is it so hard to believe?

That's probably because unless you actually know the people you are interacting with well, most people are pretty politically correct in person.

People on the internet say things to get attention, a reaction, or trying to be funny, sometimes all of the above with one post, and unfortunately, that is where most of the trouble brews because 'twitter' lines are usually taken way out of context in terms of intent, for example. There's also the issue with people not having a filter online. It gets even worse because you have the internet mentality that everyone is wrong and needs corrected for anything and everything. It's magnified 10x on the internet. It's already happened in this thread.

I'm just referring to normal interactions, this isn't even talking about comedians TRYING to be offensive.

I think it would be the worst to be a celebrity & read all of the horrible things people write about you online. Being famous would be like watching Mean Tweets 24/7 if you ever searched for your name on social media. Youtube comments already make me not want to live on this planet anymore lol.

Well yea, you do have quite a few anonymous a-holes being a-holes because they are anonymous as well. However, it is on both sides, not just the politically incorrect. You know, like the people who like to throw out death threats because they are offended by something benign.

You must be white. Racism from whites is way worse than when its between other minorities. The people complaining about too much PC are white and have never had to experience being a minority. Walk in my shoes...

Cut the sob story. I'm tired of the BS political correctness, and I'm not white.

And a little FYI, NOT being politically correct doesn't mean racist.

OK, so you are a liar and have no understanding of the issue of gender identity and the sort of measures the school would take to prevent the sort of thing you want to do.

Besides, that probably wouldn't even count as an erection.

About 95% of the time I see someone complain about PC, it's because they're racist.

Perhaps you'd like to list, say, the to 10 things you feel oppressed about saying.

That is true too, I find IRL the PC stuff is not quite as prevalent and people tend to not get offended as easily and even shake their head at how ridiculous things have gotten in respect to that.

Getting hostile comments lately on my YouTube lately. The most hilarious thing is that it took the people longer to think of and type out a comment than it would have been to just hit "back" or click a related video and move on -- like almost everyone else according to the view-count versus comments/votes.

The worst thing? It's not little kids leaving comments. They all seem 20+.
