1967. I'd take some menial jobs until I had enough travel money, then try and contact NASA and/or the DoD regarding highly advanced computer technology. I'd bring them the voice recorder first, and offer them the other devices (hidden away) in exchange for a small sum of money (1.4 million) and a new (or old, depending on your perspective) identity.
I would then buy myself a '67 Mustang, drive to California or back to New York and buy a nice but small home in the suburbs. I would invest the rest, putting a little in stocks I know will do well, and some that won't, as to avoid too much attention. I would also invest in a decent amount of gold, of course, just in case the ripples I have introduced my selling the future technology alters the course of some of my stocks. I would save at least $100,000 in cash/foreign currency.
I'd spend my time and money after that on charity work and maybe throwing a lot of it into research grants.
