I hope this is a joke. Otherwise I pray for anyone who reads your e-mails.

I used a cyrix p200+ in 1996 for my first build (I was 16, in high school, and made $6 an hour at the time and looking for a cheap system.)
That CPU was an utter pile of crap compared to my buddies Pentium 133 (OC'd to 150.)
It did compete pretty well with a friends Pentium 75 though.

Also, when it's cold I turn on the heat. I only have 4 computers, and 2 are in my master bedroom. The heat doesn't kick on very often, and usually I leave the vent in my master bedroom closed in the winter.

When you get a 3 foot stream of flames coming out the back and it melts the plastic/wood veener on the back wall of your room and blackens the carpet.

Yah, it's happened to me once.

Temps right now are 45C (Processor) and 32C (Case), the 120mm blowhole fan is just blowing out cool air though. My 19" CRT puts off the most heat. Even with UT2K4 running for long periods of time the air still isn't that warm.

What does that have to do with the temperature of the room? All you're doing is getting the heat away from the computer if you have good ventilation in your case... its not like that heat is just magically dissapearing... 100% of it is going into the room regardless.

My point was that my computer being on only has a very minimal effect on the room temperature.

Why don't you guys use a furnace or other heater? They have to be more efficient (cost wise and heating time wise) than a PC.

And I'd ask him, "So What do you want? I've got; Caramel Mocha, Vanilla, regular? Amped, water, Milk, Orange Juice, and Apple juice..." Which he'd then kindly ask for what ever drink of his choice. I'd then start a conversation with him and we'd continue on from there...

So you exposed your computer by taking it out of the case, put anything underneath the mobo? When you put the pan on the CPU, how long did it take to cook? Did you have to use thermal paste inorder for the heat to transfer directly? Did you have to put motherboard supports to prevent it from breaking? How large of a pan was this? Did the pan run into any capacitors? Were you able to move the pan around? Or did you keep it stationary?

you know your comp runs too hot when prime 95 stress test pushes a 3400+ newcastle up to 58c, IN A 25c ROOM, even when you have an xp-90 on the proc, which has been reinstalled about 10 times, with no impact on temps at all each time, there is nothing blocking airflow, and there is plenty of air moving. Why does it get this hot? BECAUSE THE FRIGGIN HEATSPREADER IS BENT IN, IT'S CONCAVE, IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET PHYSICAL CONTACT BETWEEN THE HSF AND THE PROC, SO I NEED TO RELY PURLY ON A THICKER THAN NORMAL AMOUNT OF THERMAL GREASE INSTEAD.
