You now have $500 to spend, what do you buy?

Out of these options that will soon appear!

1) Clothes from Express... Thinking something like this: http://tinyurl.com/y4pxwkd and this http://tinyurl.com/y2hsgal

2) Core i7 upgrade: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115225 and some 6GBs of DDR3 memory for $150 and some $180-200 mobo.

3) Not sure what there... :\ I want Logitech Z-5500 or something, but I can't find them for the $180 I bought them for, before I sold them.... Sad. I wish I had them still... GRR...

4) Computer Monitor, yeah... Probably nothing uber-high-end. Probably a simple TN or S-IPS monitor... Nothing fancy. 1920x1200 is a must tho!

If I only had 500? Hmm... New video card or SSD hard drive.

Edit: Obligatory Hooker and Blow just to be the first.

two more of the same monitor I have to I can eyefinity this bitch.

I'd like to eyefinity but I have a 30" display right now and it seems that there aren't really any practical options for such a setup with a central 30" display :*(

monitor and speakers, no way I could buy a i7 for under 500 bucks lol. Considering I'd have to change the motherboard, and probably the ram.

If you had to buy new RAM maybe not. But it's just barely doable if not. Looking at NCIX right now you can put together a i7930 and a really cheap 1366 mobo for $489.99. Course that doesn't include taxes and this is in Canadian dollars (do you live in the US or Canada?).

As far as the list goes, I got everything I want.
500 isnt much to me. I'd stick most of it in the bank and leave 50 for carrying cash.

I only have a 24" lcd but I'd rather wait till they come out with a 30" bezel free lcd and buy three of those.

Yeah mine's a 30" Dell WFP. About 1" thick bezel. Despite the fact that I'm going to be putting together a 3-$4000 PC in the next year or so I still don't want to spend the money for 2 more. This one cost me 1600 a few years back. If it were possible to put 2 20 or 24 inch ones on the side that would be perfect but I understand that Eyefinity can't to multiple resolutions for different panels.

The monitor would be nice but considering how close I sit to the computers I use it might be obsessive, and in truth would probably need a new computer as well.

For how close I sit even a 17inch screen(my laptops screen) works.
And the TV I have here is only like 24 inch.

That and I already have a headset so there is no real need for speakers.

Canada, but then add shipping and it's more... but still pretty good. I figured the i7 was still in the $900 range here. Been a while since I checked out prices.

Wasn't it you that was complaining recently about not having enough money to see the optometrist? Maybe you should do that.

That's already in the works, but I am going to costco to do it. An optometrist visit up here is ridiculous. It's like $300.
