amusing how the first two responses, occurring at the same time, were in regards to the destruction of victim's balls.

Well I for one still feel sorry for the kid. He was screwing around doing stupid stuff and just panicked. Now he has to live with 1 mistake for the rest of his life. It's sad.....he was stupid, but it's still sad.

No way in hell you would lose your hand and leg from an M80.

Well hand I could see but not a leg. Must have been a 1/4 stick.

What was an M-80? 1/8th stick? Pineapples were 1/4 sticks? I forget.

Putting it in between his legs meant close proximity to femoral artery. He could very easily lose a leg if not his life.

Seeing how M-80's and M1000's aka 1/4 sticks have been illegal to produce since the late 60's and illegal to sell since the early 70's in the US. It is hard to tell how much flash powder the idiot who made the cracker put in the casing of this improvised version.

Ive got a M-8.5 between my thighs

I wouldn't be bragging about a mini 8.5. You have the length, but being able to fit inside a pencil sharpener is nothing to brag about.

I may not hit the sides, but at least I bottom out.

Congrats about talking about penis size to a bunch of men. We're proud of you!

Dont act like you didnt just send me a PM for pics.

hhahahhaha

He put it between his legs and covered it with his hand. This contains the force of the explosion rather than allowing it to dissipate. So yeah, I can totally see this.

Also, from the msnbc link:

Kimmick's family said the teen planned to join the Army.

Sounds like just the guy the Army wants handling explosives and guns.

...and seeing how the US is the only manufacturer of fireworks in the US, and how reservations are not subject to US law, I am sure they are impossible to get........or not.

Know those smoke grenade fireworks? Well I once took the fuse off a dud of those. Tried to use the fuse for another firework. I pulled the fuse off of some other part, not thinking it would light, but it did. Burned my right thumb(looking at the thumb from the side, most of that) and a part of my stomach. Think of holding an item down but pulling on it. The shit burned so badly for like 3 days. Had a wound still there for like a month on stomach and thumb. No scar on my thumb at all but my stomach has a noticeable scar up close but its covered with hair.

I'm more careful now obviously

Seriously, how smart is it to light an explosive with the plan of putting out the fuse before it explodes?

They are illegal to manufacture or in the US reservation or not see the Child Protection Act of 1966. An Indian reservation is a territory of the US.

By your logic then it is legal for an reservation to set up a bunch of meth labs without the government being able to do anything about it.

Teenagers do stupid things, as I'm sure we can all attest to ... Most of us are just lucky that some of our stupid things didn't do permanent damage. That said, why the heck would you light an explosive just to put it out, and then on top of that not be prepared in case something doesn't go quite as planned? Ouch!

Good lord, I don't feel sorry for this kid at all. He didn't have the presence of mind to at least grab a bucket of water before he started playing with the fuse? Geez.

Most fuse used on these types of devices are water proof.

Yeah, that's what I get for talking out of my ass. I didn't know that.

Still. Original statement still stands. He shouldn't have been doing it in the first place.

Because you're not a moron. Gee, I know the military uses this stuff to kill people and miners blow up mountains with it, let's shove this in my pants and see if my iron constitution can hold up!

I feel sorry for him. Every teenager has done something stupid, but most of us were lucky enough to walk away without injuries. He wasn't doing anything that tons of other teenage boys haven't done or at least something similar. He just freaked out when it wouldn't extinguish and made a mistake. In a stressful situation people tend to make mistakes. Yes, he could have thought about it beforehand. Yes, he could have just not played with the fireworks, but there are tons of things most people shouldn't do and they do it anyway.

Dumb kid... I always felt lucky not to have lost any fingers growing up with filipino made firecrackers (bawangs). Those things would take branches off trees. but I was never stupid enough to try and hold one while playing put out the fuse before it blows up.
