i love the fact that people on this thread are complaining about people littering by throwing cigarette butts out the windows...but they dont mind throwing pennies, wood balls, etc...

I will forever remember being on community service in the orange jump suits poking with my litter picker-upper stick at the cake of cigarette butts on the site of I75 and then realizing it was inches thick and 6-12 inches wide for the whole length of the highway. My poor insane brain started trying to do the math to figure out how many cigarette butts were needed to make a matt of filters that thick on the highway for mile and miles... Mindboggling. And they were thrown one at a time...

That shows that even though you don't think it makes a difference, it does, you negligent pigs. Those things take 10 to 20 years to disintegrate, and even then, they don't return naturally to the earth, because they are not biodegradable.

Now my brain is going insane. That thick matt of butts had maybe about 1000 butts for every foot of highway, or over 5,000,000 every mile. What crap!

EDIT: Now I can't not think of this matt of filth. It may even be 2000-3000 butts per foot in that gutter.

My wife and I have raised two children and always had plastic bags to put a used diaper in. I'd much rather see a cigarette butt or two then one slimy, oozing full diaper laying in the parking lot. Those people that throw them out should be forced to wear the used diapers on their head.

LOL....I agree. Besides overall thrash that people are too lazy to dispose of properly, I hate seeing chicken bones in a KFC box left in a parking lot for the Grackles to pick through.

Long story short.... he and his friends happened to be smoking and decided to flick their butts out the window. An officer passed as they did and got one in his window. I hate smokers that throw their butts out the window, and I'm VERY happy we have strict laws about it here (because of the fire danger in Central Oregon). $1500 fine if you throw burning material out of your car window, no questions asked, and that includes ciggarettes. I laugh everytime I see some jackass that throws a ciggy out a window and then gets pulled over...the bastards deserve it (pisses me off even more because I lived in a house that burned down in one of the many forest fires around here).

Littering in general annoys the hell out of me, when I go hiking I usually end up leaving with more crap than I came with just cleaning up after people, like is it really that hard to use a trash can, I should be licensed to give a beatdown for someone who leaves a dirty diaper in a parking lot. I've seen them too, hell I almost stepped in one getting out of my car the other day I freaked out. Like how hard is it to actually use a trash can anyway, I hate pigs like that, they are just as bad as the idiot leftovers I find in the woods of loads of beer cans and cups when there is a big metal can 10 feet away.

I thought my rant about cig. butts is useful, look at all the great conversation it created. But thanks, perhaps when this thread dies and I still want to be 'useful', i'll post about all the othe sh!t that people throw out the window.

Littering is disgusting and you are an asshole if you litter. A friend of mine was riding his motorbike on the highway when some bastard in front of him flicked his butt out of the window. The butt went into my friends helmet and burned his face. He crashed as a result and broke quite a few bones. Now tell me the butt flicker was justified - btw, he did not stop and was never caught.

The people who leave their diapers, ashtray contents, fast food garbage in the car park are probably the same asses who are incapable of pushing their trolley into one of the conveniently placed trolley recepticles in the supermarket car park. They prefer to just leave them by the car so that some poor persons car gets a nice dent/scratch as the trolley meanders it's way across the car park. FFS, it will take less than as minute to push the trolley into one of those bays and return to your car. Why are they such inconsiderate bastards?
