I work at ccity (i'm closing on wednesday) and on friday we are all gonna have scheduled times to eat and our store is catering in for us. It's the same place that caters us breakfast during meetings. They are very good. Had pankcakes, sausague, bacon, bagels, OJ, etc.. and it was all very good. I'm hopin for the same for lunch. Are all stores paying time and a half on fri and sat? I'm scheduled 11-11 on fri and sat but might put in an extra hour or two (need the cash)

I just got my Apex SP271 home. So far, excellent. Good picture quality, and the sound is not only stereo, but "surround". There are 2 extra side-firing speakers as well as the 2 on the front. I only listened to the sound for a minute, because I run my sound through an external amp and speakers, but it sounded good. A little fuzzy perhaps, but that was from cable, and I didn't play with the sound options. No front inputs, but 3 composite inputs + Svideo. Output from my ReplayTV 3000 is crisp; the text in the menus is now sharp, and it doesn't wobble or flicker like I'm used to it doing.

One HUGE thing that I didn't see mentioned elsewhere: This is TV is BLACK. Not the usual Apex Silver. I like the styling much more than the typical Apex.

The CC I got this at had plenty in stock, but none on display, and they weren't intending to put any out. Stupid. If anyone wants a picture, PM, and I'll try to take some and throw them on the web.

Now, to wait until friday and price match it...

Apex 1201 is the replacement of 1200. All three models : AD1200/AD1201/AD1500 will be rung up as AD1200 in CC system. My store still has about 15 of the 1200 and 5-6 of the 1500, and about 600 of the 1200.
About the speaker set, those are awesome speakers, the only thing bad about those is the sub (terrible bass!!!). I suppose you meant 600 of the AD1201, not 1200... which leads to the assumption that you guys actually have 15 left of the 1200 that plays VCDs. The one I brought home is the 1201 which doesn't play VCDs and I'm probably heading back to the Hicksville, NY (or Westbury, NY) store to look for the 1200s... unless you can check these 2 stores from your computer there for 1200s? Pretty please? The CC website comes up with the 1200 model no matter if I search for the 1201, 1500, or 1200.

I don't understand the circuit city rules for black friday (nor any shops for that matter)

Can I go buy something I want there tommorow, keep it in the box (or whatever), then arrive at the store on friday morning with my receipt, and explain I want a pricematch to the current items super black friday sale price (even if it includes MIRs and other things?)

If this is true why the hell would anyone bother waking up at 6am and fighting crowds?

will circuit city honor this? are there no specific disclaimers for the black friday sale?


I suppose if they don't, I can just return the item as long as I dont open it because of the 30 money back guarantee anyways?

I can't check to see whether they have the 1200 or the 1201. All of them showed up in the system as the same model!

this is gonna be the last time i say this, yes, you can buy it now and readjust the price on Black Friday.

I also picked up an Apex SP271 last night at my local CC. They didn't actually have any on display, although it was sitting out in the middle of floor in its box with a sign that said Apex SP271 $199.99. They also had 16 in stock since last night. I didn't even take it home with me though, since I'm not sure I want to keep it if for some odd reason I can't get the price match. I figure that I'll just go in on Friday, get the pricematch, and take it home. If no pricematch, then I'll return it there on the spot without ever having to move it.

My dilemma is whether or not I want to purchase any extended coverage on it since it only has a 3 month labor warranty, 1 year parts, and 2 year special parts. This is typical with many TV's, but I'm not confident that APEX makes long lasting quality sets, and I would hate to scrap the TV in 3 months. It's $39 for 36 months under the CC plan.

I just went back to my local CC and checked for AD1200 DVD player - they had none on the floor so I was out of luck... anyway, I questioned the salesman (possibly manager - didn't ask) if the ONK SKSHT500 speakers are going to be $199 for Black Friday - he said no. Can you guys confirm that it will be? I picked it up just now for $299 and am hoping to get my $100 back Friday.

I just got back from my local cc, and if you look at my post in the "Black Friday DVD Player deals" thread, they had a couple hundred of the ad1200 players.

But that wasn't my reason for going- I got one of the APX SP271s- istallion is exactly right about the inputs and outputs. They had only one on display as well, and the rest were apparently in the stockroom since the box is HUGE. It's also black, and looks like its got speakers on the sides...looks much better than the silver one imo.
