"supposed to be alphabetical.............just ask whoever is working in music, they should have a list that they can look at to see if we carry it. ok?"
will give that list a try later on in the day, MUCH thanks for the info. only time i can get assistance @ cc is when i don't want any one of my boys works there and he IS a hound (didn't know about none of the deals either when i asked)! if a female customer is around he won't even answer
and the girls playing with their um hair are even less help...

I just bought a 100Wx5 Pioneer DD/DTS receiver and a pair of Pioneer bookshelf speakers on the CC site for $201.38 shipped. My sister should be happy with her gifts. I'm happy because I got the 2-day ad price online with free shipping as icing. I HATE dealing with crazy packed stores on Thanksgiving Friday/Saturday and the stuff (probably 30-40 pounds worth) is getting delivered to my door for free.

so i returned and repurchased. but the new receipt still shows the orginal date from few days ago, as well as today's date. is everyone else's the same? does it matter that it says orignal date with a date from a few days ago?

Majik:

I think you got the wrong one. You got the PC100/133 256MB memory. The one you _really_ wanted was UPC 7 31969 20102 2, and it's marked on the front with a tan band on top where it says "Desktop PC133 (ONLY)". Further, the proper one will say for the model on the receipt: "MEI 256PC133ONLY."

I don't know how to provide session ID free links to the rebates (so I'll risk getting flamed for a "how to"), but

1. Go to CC website
2. Select "Computer Peripherals and Accessories"
3. Select "Disk Drives and Memory"
4. Click "Type of Storage Device" and select "memory"
5. Pan down until you get to the $59-59.99 ones.

I think you got the orange banded one for $59.00. You wanted the one right below it with the tan band. The tan band is free today (and the rebates are good thru tomorrow). You'll find both rebates to make them free right there.

Draggoon:

When you went in, you "pricematched." The operative word for CC today was to ask them to "rering" (in other words, they pretend like you returned the item, and then rebought it). When they price match, you retain all the old info. When they "rering," you get a new ticket number, dated whenever you had them rering.

Having said that, you'll probably still get the rebate (it sure as he11 wouldn't stop me from sending them in), but I would strongly urge you to retain all the packaging from whatever it is you bought, just in case you don't get the rebate.

Cheers

Any of you pick up the Tripp-Lite surge protector? I did, but when I got home I realized that it had rung up at $19.99 instead of the $14.99. Check your receipts.

I also tried to Pricematch Beauty & the Beast at CC with the Target ad. I got the "We can do it only if its the Sunday Ad" speech. First it was, we don't do time limited sales. I pointed out that it was a 2 day sale, then got Oh. Well, we don't do those either. I didn't care too much about the movie so I didn't push it, but nothing like selective pricematching to win over customers.

As usual CC's stores had none of the FAR items. My friends told me they were the 20th in the store, but all was sold out already!

And as usual those who beleived they got some of the items had to find out that they were handed the wrong items or they rang up with a higher price.

So it seems it was the same story as every year with CC.

While I was waiting for the best buy doors to open I had one of my operatives as #10 in the CC line. Though she was the first person to make it over to the UPS/surge protector area--there were none of the APC 350VA UPS units there. She asked a worker on the floor and was handed 2 500VA units. After I got back from BB we went to check out and I did not notice that she had the wrong units. We were rung up by some clueless CC worker that couldn't get anyone's payment to work after we waited in 4 separate lines only to be told that they can't check us out. Clueless worker said that the rebates were for $60 not $40 and that?s why they came up as more than they were supposed to, but no rebates printed out. He sent us over to the service counter to get the rebate receipts and that's when the worker pointed out that it was the wrong unit. She called her manager over and the manager told her to credit us the amounts of the UPSes. We ended up with two of the devices for only the cost of tax out the door (4.50 each). I think that beats the GF4, HDD+RAM, CD-RW, digital camera, CD-Rs, and DVDs I got over at BB.

argh, can anyone else confirm this? on the new receipt it shows the printout date (friday), orig date (tuesday), and for items it shows 3 things: the ram sold, the ram returned, and the ram sold again. this receipt is no go? the rebates printed out with the receipt. the guy said it was fine because it had friday's date at the top. if the rebates get rejected, will circuit city cover them?

anyone have similar situation last year or past deals?

What store was that? Who did you talk to?

This was at the Gainesville FL store.

I was at the customer service desk when I attempted the pricematch. I spoke with a regular rep who was unsure of the policy, and she turned to a guy who I presume was an assistant manager type who ultimately shot me down. I didn't get names because it wasn't of most importance to me, but still aggravating nonetheless. If you're gonna have a policy, stick by it, or have a clearly written one that states specific exclusions.

CC used to be like BB, not sticking PM policy, etc. The past 5 months all the CC have been changing to be more customer oriented. all the stores should have an attitude to make every customer a loyal customer. unfortunetly, your situation is the exact opposite, and its kind of pathetic that that store hasnt changed, and im sure that your local store isnt the only one hanging on to the old policy. we do not PM x hour sale, but as you pointed out here and at the store, it was a 2-day sale, which we do PM. you should have been able to buy the movie for the ad price. on behalf of CC i apologize for the morons working at our Gainesville FL store.

Took my 13 year old into CC so he could get a pricematch on the Sandisk 128 compact flash that BB had for $29. My son had the BB ad with him. Showed it to some sales guy who said "too much difference in price." I said let me talk to the manager. Sales guy disappeared to get manager. After 15 minutes and I hadn't seen either one we left. So much for a greater interest in customer satisfaction.

We then went to Sears who did the deal with no hassles.
