Nice Job Rather. You could have called him on his phoneyness, but instead let him paint a lovely picture of how sweet and nice he 'is'. I hope people see that Sadaam is the same with in respect to the UN and weapons. Say one thing, do the complete opposite.

Imus (and this source...where's it from??) should really know what he's talking about before taking shots at Rather. This was a 3 hour interview, edited down to 45 minutes by the Iraqis. No wonder Hussein came off as Mother Theresa.

but I think the fact that he was able to interview Hussien so the American Public could get a personal Glimpse at the Man

I don't care for Dan Rather but I wouldn't exactly call him a traitor, also, I didn't see
him talk bad about USA or Bush during this interview.

He is a journalist, and his job is to gather news, including interviews.
Most of the Journalist would of jump at the chance of interviewing saddam.

I don't think Dan Rather had much to fear about pissing off Saddam. I don't think Saddam would really do anything to him since he is such a well known reporter. It seemed to me Dan was trying to be cautious about doing that.
