18, haven't yet. Been buzzed, but not drunk. Mostly because a lot of my friends don't want to drink (either they're in sports season and don't want their ability affected or are just afraid of getting caught). Although I do have plans to hang out with a couple friends after midterms.

I just dont like that kind of stuff and fail to see the fascination everyone has over getting drunk

Having said this your answer will probably be "you dont get it because you didnt try it", but then I enjoy living a life without any vices/dependencies, so drinking/smoking/drugs etc are all out

I jsut don't see anything wrong with having some "vices" if they have no negative effect on your life. Playing computer games, or watching TV or anything like that is just as "bad" a use of your time, the point is to have fun, if you can have fun drinking and not have any negative effect on your life then what is the problem? The vast majority of people who consume alcohol do it in acceptable moderation so as not to be a large negative effect on their lvies, sure there are people who abuse alcohol, but there are also people who spend 40 hours in a a row playing WOW until they have a heart attack and die, or watching TV all day and never going to school etc..

Really, NO negative effect, none at all?

Im 18, only had tastes of wine and beer. And by a taste i mean a sip so I don't think that counts as even "drinking". Sure, may be fun as hell, but if I don't do it, I won't know what I'm missing and won't be bothered a bit by it.

Drunk people often annoy me as well, which is also a turnoff for me becoming them by drinking.

Not really. Few times while I was 16, Didn't really care for it a whole lot then and I don't now. I just like getting that sweet buzz where everything's good. When I started drinking hard alcohol more there were a few times where I accidentally got drunk because it's totally different than beer and I had to acclimate to that.

I like to enjoy my beer/alcohol, so that's usually what prevents me from getting hammered.
