Is your 2.6c running at 3.1GHZ+? If so, post your speeds, components (heatsink/fan/ram/motherboard etc), voltages, timings and game accel settings.

Pisses me off that I cant run 250fsb / 200mhz ram at 1.65vcore. I have to go higher to get 250fsb, which is unsafe on the cpu. So i stay at 3.11Ghz.

actually, im batman.

i did some testing last night with my setup,
( is7/2.6c/geil 3500 ultra platinum 2x256/450 w allied psu )

i changed things around trying to see what the highest fsb
oc i could get was. i got up to 250fsb, using 1.675v and had
all of game accel off, had the memory settings in their turned
to disabled. it boosted, got into windows fine, played games
fine, but failed in prime 95. no matter what i change, i cant
seem to get a better score over all in sandra then leaving
it at 239fsb/1.65vcore/2.9vdimm/ gat settings at turbo/normal
auto/enable/enable. i wish i could hit 1000fsb (250) with better
overall scores, but i have no luck. im not sure if its my ram or not,
but i cant seem to run my 2.6 like everyone else is, at 3.2Ghz+.
Im not ungreatful at all though, i mean, im 100% stable at 3.11ghz,
but i wouldnt mind 3.5ghz.

got my P4c 2.6 running at 3125MHz (240x13) and not even breaking a sweat.
Using Zalman 7000cu, 45C during heavy load.
RAM running att 2-3-3-7, 5/4 ratio at default Vdimm.
AGP/PCI set to Fixed 66/33 to get my SATA to boot.
GAT set to auto on all.

I know it can OC alot more than that but i just don't feel the need to do that just now...maybe when HL2 and Doom3 arrives?

I haven't really been involved in this P4c overclocking stuff so I have a few questions....do you keep HT on when overclocked? What is better price/performance the 2.6c or 2.4c? I am looking to buy a new system soon and want to get into this stuff as I have been with my 1700+ and everything, I just want to give Intel a try and see what all the fuss is about. Also, is the Buffalo pc3700 any good?

No, mine was only running at 2.99 using SLK900. The disappointment was so huge I went out and bought a 2.4C and now running at almost 3.5GHz (290fsb) with stock voltage. Ambient temp at 30C btw...

yeah, from the looks of it, the 2.4c seems to get a better oc reliability then the 2.6c. Sad but true, from what im seeing in this thread and many others. 2.6c's dont seem to be as oc'able as the 2.4c's. I'm 100% stable at 3.125ghz, so i cant really complain, some people have 2.6'c that cant even get 3.0ghz.

hey bat, so if i had the money and am building a high end gaming system would you recommend that i buy a 2.4, .6, or 2.8?I'd still be happy to save some cash by getting the most OC'able processor. The hsf im getting is a zalman 7000cnps alcu with AS ceramique... never done overclocking before but I might try it.
