mentatmule: "BTW, any other Buckaroo fans out there?"
Yup. And, I see you included Repo Man in your list. Both gems.
Raging Bull is the most comprehensively satisfying drama I've ever seen.
Memento is a stunning tour de force.
And I'd add all the Monty Python films, especially The Meaning of Life ("into the fetus frightening room" and "In fact I'll take two (condoms), for I am a Protestant and fiercely proud of it.") to Buckaroo Banzai as top notch comedy classics.
Still, for wholesome family entertainment, stimulating intellectual inquiry, and plain old fashioned good taste, no one can top a Tom Green opus.
Edit: And, btw, boo hoo hoo for poor Tom and Drew. What possibly could have broken those two fun kids up? You don't think that somehow the tawdry side of Hollywood (you know, having that second drink or cheating at celebrity canasta tournaments) could have undermined their obviously bedrock soul connection, do you? I mean, didn't they swap spit or blood or some meaningful bodily fluid as proof of their eternal love?
