I know it doesn't compare to the Navy, but part of what kept me motivated during college was, "Remember what it was like to work in retail."
I was the sort who got nervous about my grade if it dipped to 80%, because the classes that mattered required >=70% to pass. I always liked having a decent buffer available for those times when I'd screw up on a test, or completely forget about a rather substantial assignment.

Working in retail might suck but try working in a sweatshop restaurant once it sux total ass.

I regret not taking time after college to travel and live abroad, after living my entire life in Florida. I went straight to law school at 21 and I wasn't mature enough to do well. My three years in law school were restless and depressing.

A couple years ago, I made a decision to quit my attorney job and live abroad for a while. My family and friends mostly thought I was crazy but I think it was one of the better decisions I made.

Not having sex with more girls when I was in high school and college.

Not going out with this Russian chick who was in love with me back in college. Damn. I was stupid. It was obvious she wanted me.

didn't live on campus for my first year in college. I am sure something good did come out of this arrangement, but if i got the chance to go back again, i would definitely stay on campus.

Not usually. :awe:

and this right here is why you'll never amount to shit and continue to point fingers at anyone and anything but yourself.

take some fucking responsibility for your situation and make it better or shut the fuck up about it; the world is full of people bitching about things without taking painfully simple steps to correct them.

Not really. You just get depressed and give up on trying.

maybe you do. others would apply themselves and gtfo. You simply have no motivation, and it is 100% on you. Until you accept that, your life will continue to suck.

Life is often filled with regrets, whether for things undone, or for things you wish could be undone...dwelling on those regrets is a bad thing. Put them in the past and move on with life.

I have several that bother me from time to time, but I can't disclose them here because there are some things that aren't subject to statutes of limitation...:whiste)

Hooking up with my friends girl is really the one thing that I did when I was young that I wish I didn't, same old story told countless times by countless people over the years, drunk off our asses and one thing lead to another and....

But in a lot of ways it caused me to seek out a new group of friends that weren't so partying focused and is partially to thank for me meeting my wife, dramatically cutting back on my drinking and also quit smoking as a result, not in any particular order.

What are you talking about? I already know I have no motivation... It isn't like accepting that is going to somehow fix it.

That's like accepting you have some kind of disease that will kill you in the next few days and thinking that will somehow cure you.

Having been so weak (physically included) for so long, and the ramifications thereof. Finally getting noticeably stronger, but I'm 22 and looking at other people's lives I feel like I've wasted a very sizable chunk of mine.

Granted my family situation sucks and has for about the last decade and you could say I've had more to overcome then most of these people I'm comparing myself to; but I'm finally starting to realize that my obsessing over it has royally fucked up my life and has only mildly affected the situation in a positive way. But I can't moralize not obsessing over the situation, so I'm compromising by turning down the obsession a bit. Or rather I'm channeling it into a less direct and more useful obsession.

Huh, don't know why I typed all of that. Thanks for reading I guess.

Life is a bitch with bright spots.
