First one was something like a 10 or 13 (not really certain )
25mhz was the new computer that replaced that one (with a turbo button, maybe a 386? That really didn't seem important at the time)
Next to a 66 486 intel
then 133 intel
166 intel
266 cyrix (good chip)
400 amd k6-2 (first oc'ed chip upped the fsb from 100 to 110 and gained 10%, wow)
800 amd
1 gig amd
1300 amd (i think, that may have been the oc?)
1800 xp
barton 2800 (pretty nice chip but....opteron)

Apple IIc
486-25MHz
Pentium MMX 166 @ 200MHz (first overclock)
PII-350 @ 400MHz (first home-built system)
Celeron 366 @ 567MHz
Celeron 800 @ 1GHz
P4 2.4B @ 2.79GHz

Now I'm tempted to upgrade to an A64 3000+ rig, but from what I've read the difference would probably not be worth it ... so I keep telling myself ... must hold out for at least 4GHz (or 4000+) and dual-core!!!

[*]Zilog Z-80A (Timex Sinclair ZX1000)
[*]MOS 8502 CPU, running at 1MHz with Z-80 (Commodore 64)
[*]Intel 8088 @ 4.77 MHz
[*]Intel 8088 @ 7 MHz (my first overclock... requiring buying crystals at Radion Shack and desoldering the original and soldering in the new chips (@ 21MHz IIRC...with a 3 DIVIDER!)
[*]NEC V-20 @ 7 MHz (8088 clone that was better than the 8088)
[*]NEC V-20 @ 10 MHz (my fastest IBM-XT)
[*]Intel 386-SX 16MHz (Overclocked this machine to 20 MHz)
[*]Intel 386-SX 25MHz (Overclocked this machine to 33 MHz)
[*]AMD 486DX/2-80MHz (First Machine I owned that REQUIRED at heatsink and fan)
[*]Intel Pentium 100
[*]Intel Pentium 120 (Dog of a chip on a 30 MHz bus)
[*]Intel Pentium 133
[*]Intel Pentium 166 (overclocked to 233 via jumpers on mobo)
[*]Intel Pentium 233 (overclocked to 250 with 100MHz FSB on Mustang MOBO by Fic)
[*]AMD K6-233
[*]AMD K6-266
[*]AMD K6/2-300
[*]Intel P2-300@504 (SL2W8 was a SWEET OVERCLOCKER and Intel only had a 450 while I was running 504!)
[*]DUAL P2-300's @ 558 from StepThermoDynamics using ThermoElectric Coolers on a Shuttle 649a Mobo
[*]Intel P3-450@558
[*]Dual Celeron 366's at 550 on an Abit BP6 (still running as a web server today)
[*]Various P3's (FCPGA) from 550MHz on up to 800MHz overclocked.
[*]AMD Athlon 700 @ 840 (Slot A without using the overclock device!)
[*]Various Athlons from 800 to Athlon XP 2500 overclocked to ~3500+ Speeds (current gaming machine)
[*]Various Durons from 600's up to a current AppleBred 1600 @ ~2GHz.

And A LOT OF JUNK IN BETWEEN! Never had a Cyrix Chip. Never had a VIA chip (yet.. I like their low power models). Never had a P4 yet and I think I'm probably going to skip that entire generation of Intel chips.

Intel 486DX2 33 MHz (In used machine with proprietary local bus MB)
Cyrix 486DX2 66 MHz (replaced CPU in above machine)
Cyrix P-166+ 133 MHz (home-built machine in AT case)
AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz (Still using in home-built machine, running at stock speed presently)
AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 1.477 GHz (Still using in home-built machine, running at stock speed presently)

Don't know if I want to upgrade soon, because I'm involved in a project to quiet down both my PCs to hush HTPC/work status. I figure faster CPU's will require noisier cooling solutions.

The reason for such a small gap in the AthlonXPs is I built new lower end computers and used the old CPUs in the new boxes and just kept upgrading my new box.

I have actually owned (and still own) more cpus that this but they were never on my main computer.

A guy I know asked me why I'd want faster than 1 Gz, anyway. I think we were talking about notebooks, though. In a notebook, I might not require faster, but I guess in a PC, there are certain applications that just won't run if you don't have a faster CPU. Some of the more processor intensive ones, right? Can anyone comment?
