My dream everyday driver would be all electric with a top speed of 50 mph, a 40 mile range, customizable body and, a $1000 price tag.

The whole premise of the OP doesn't make sense. With an "unlimited" budget, how is reliability even a factor?
You can have a full time support vehicle with spare parts traveling with you, like bicyclists in the Tour de France.
Or, you can hire someone to drive an identical car behind you, so if the your car breaks down, just swap with the other car. Think of it like RAID 1 for commuting.
If you truly had an unlimited budget, such as heads of state, VIPs, etc. roads are only used for "last mile" travel, similar to telecommunications. For distance you travel by air, either by helicopter or private jet.
On the other hand, my "fun car" could also work just fine as a daily driver. Lots of people (myself included) have had a 944 as an everyday car and they work great for that. The turbo models are even better. But you do lose a back seat and, as much as I end up being the DD for my friends right now, it's just not possible for any coupe to be a good daily driver for me.
Betcha get stranded the first week in the Jag2011 XFR with the M5 being a very close second. I just like the styling of the Jag more. With it being a daily driver I am going to enjoy that more than the M5's better handling in standard grocery getting chores.
