Can't afford one so it's a moot point.

My current daily driver - BMW 135i. *
*As long as the fuel pump is working...
Come on man, that's a poser BMW.
Yes it is, because according to you if you could afford it, that's what you'd drive. And you'd get stranded. Can't afford one so it's a moot point.
The 135i is a twin turbo I6 car that can hit 60 under 5 seconds...this isn't a toy, it's good at what it does, now the 128i, that is a bit different story but the 135i definitely a great car.
i'd take anything, though a hybrid would be nice, that gets better gas mileage than my truck (~12mpg). however with the current state of the economy, i can't afford to have both a work truck and a *dream* car.
All things considered, the Tesla Roadster seems appropriate. Gas mileage is irrelevant, maintenance is irrelevant, has all the power you need... Unless you need a back seat I can't think of anything better.
Just curious, I was looking at the Cadillac CTS, around 03/04, and found a few for what I thought were relatively cheap...I figure it would be a nice car for a DD, and I'm not thinking about buying one, but I was curious if there is a lot of maintenance on these or if they are expensive to own. I know a few people here have one..
Avoid the ones with the 3.2L engine, they have known problems (moderate, not major).Just curious, I was looking at the Cadillac CTS, around 03/04, and found a few for what I thought were relatively cheap...I figure it would be a nice car for a DD, and I'm not thinking about buying one, but I was curious if there is a lot of maintenance on these or if they are expensive to own. The car I drive now. 2005 Honda S2000 in Suzuka Blue. There is no replacement for top down driving.
You guys have some freakin low expectations.
I dont care if i'm a billionaire, im not wasting money on transportation. There are better things to spend money on than extravagant cars. Spend $350,000 on something that will attract attention and scream "I dont know the value of a dollar!", or spend $60,000 on two completely loaded daily drivers that will last forever and get you where you want to go without telling everyone you are completely loaded.
If I ever become stinking rich, you would NEVER know it just looking at me, but myself and my immediate family would be very comfortable. Drive new, NICE cars, but not something the average joe wouldnt be able to buy, just instead of making payments i pay cash. I have simple tastes and simple needs.
Heck i just detailed the inside of my current car and fell in love with it all over again, feels like a new car, all armor-alled, shiny and clean inside. Made me hard wire my radar detector above the rear view to further clean up the inside. I am very content at the moment with my vehicle.
I'm sorry, I just can't fathom paying more than, at absolute TOP $50,000 for 1 vehicle, and that would be the utmost CEILING. A $30,000 car for me, right now, is so far out of reach, that IS high expectations, and something that i would dream about.
