2009 was Relapse.

Leona Lewis's album ECHO, which has 6-7 good songs, and the rest weren't too hard on the ears. Usually i would like one or two songs from an album, so it was a pleasant surprise to have that many good ones.

Going back a year, I would suggest from 2008 to get Saturdays = Youth, by M83.

Alicia Keys album was one of the best of 09.

Wow dude great call. I've never heard of this band before but I'm really digging it.

I was hooked the first time I heard them. The side projects are worth a listen as well: Indukti - S.U.S.A.R. (with Mariusz Duda on vocals) and Lunatic Soul (Duda and Lapaj).

I've been big on Dream Theater for a while now. They can write some cheesy stuff but John Petrucci is my idol as far as guitarists go. A Nightmare to Remember and The Count of Tuscany are addicting.

also shit this riverside album is good. i had only heard second life syndrome, which is kinda not that great. this reminds me of anathema mixed with tool.

I think in terms of popular vote, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Eminem and Taylor swift would probably win.
