Probably Intel 440BX, only let down by that lack of a 1/4 PCI divider.

Intel 865 (Springdale) probably equal first. Great clocker and great feature set. Mine was one of the early PAT capable ones

NForce 4 Ultra is good, but let down in a few places, mainly it's firewall.

440BX, still got a Tyan Tiger 100 running with dual P2 266's.

Ahh, the 440BX series. No chipset was able to beat its stock 100MHz FSB performance even with the 133MHz FSB enabled ones. Plus, it overclocked to 133MHz easily, keeping it as a performance king for long time to come. I would also say its 440BX, for its time.

My desktop is still a 440BX abit BP6 running dual 366@550. I'm waiting to upgrade until I have money and a better chipset than the 440BX comes out.
