I get what your saying, but I can listen to the last note(s) on Lateralus for weeks.

Prince is def a talented mofo, way moreso than his music would suggest.

ns1 you would probably like a band called "Karnivool"

Nice dude! Glad to see some Umphrey's fans around here.

Too many to choose from really:

SRV's bluesy tone is just awesome.
Clapton's woman tone
Gilmour's tone + his feeling for the guitar during a solo and overall is amazing

Nice I thought me and my friend named "40sTheme" on here were like the only 2. Good to find another Umph fan.

I've seen them 3 times now. I might be heading out to Chicago for their 3 day thing for New Year's. Should be a blast.

I've only seen them once but it was a freaking great show. North Carolina on April 1st at Amos' southend. Good day that was.

He sure has put out a lot of crap music, but some of it is good.
I had no idea he was such a good player for a long time.

Angus Young + Malcolm Young

You can't separate them. Their tone is awesome because it's 100% pure with no excess gain, etc.

I always liked Rik Emmit's playing (Triumph).

I thought that his speed and melodic rhythm were great.

Heh, it's so easy to sound like a rock star playing some Page if you know the pentatonic scale.

Forgot about him. Schon =

As a child prodigy, he was touring with Santana when he was in his teens.

Also, my bad, BB King!

Uli Roth on the early Scorps albums, as well as Michael Schenker with the Scorps and then UFO..MSG. Still can't get enough.

I also really like Chris DeGarmo's work with Queensryche.

Ted Nugent with his Gibson Byrdland guitar and Fender amps cranked = The hero of my early playing days.

I'm really not sure who my favorite is, but I was enthralled with Eddie Van Halen last night. I definitely enjoy eruption.

Yeah, that was post '75 Page. I love Page's '66-'72 tone, where he was sober enough to play. I've got it pretty much recreated with a modified Yardbox, reverb, and some over-wound Burstbucker 2 and 3's being direct fed through a Traynor Bloc 100G. I can add some phase effects in to get that Lesile amp sound from LZ's first album. With this setup, I can turn the gain down and use my Tele for Led Zep I sound, and turn the gain up and use my Les Paul for Led Zep II sound
