Your Favorite NVIDIA Video Card

My BFG 6800GTOC's heatsink wasn't installed properly at the factory... part of the heatsink didn't make contact with a couple RAM chips. A couple turns of the screw that secures the heatsink remedied the problem... but that's some pretty poor assembly by BFG.

what is the purpose of lifetime warranty if there is no problems with the card? how can the video card be broken? anyone ever use the lifetime warranty on the video card before and how did the company respond?

I have an old GeForce2 GTS in my machine at work that had the fan go out, Other then that it is perfectly fine. If it was a BFG, I'd get the fan replaced. Of course, most cards will outlast their usefulness before they break, but in this case it would have been nice to replace the fan. I might still look for a fan that will fit a GeForce2 and slap it on there.

The 6800 Ultra Extreme isn't on the list. Which would get my vote.

My only thing negative to say about nvidia is there drivers. I just recently switched to an Radeon X800 XT PE, and the ATI control center rocks. I'd say both companies have good drivers, but ATI has that nice control center. :thumbsup:

I don't see my eVGA 6800 standard listed, but it is my favorite Nvidia card over my Gainward ti4200.

My vote goes to Leadtek because of the HSF. It's silent, awesome, and the 2d is fantastic.

Gainward is probably not on the list because they're pulling out of the US market...First ELSA, now them. The best cardmakers just don't appear to like to stay here.

Oh well. At least BFG is kicking it up a notch, and eVGA is starting to get the recognition they deserve (GREAT company).
