I wanna get some ideas so I have more sub choices to get. I've had some pretty bad subs at subway from poorly thought out builds. But a really well designed one can linger in me for days in craving.

Here's one of my fav builds now.

Spicy Italian or Italian BMT on Parmesan herb bread and provolone, extra toasted. Spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, pepperoncini, LOTS OF oil and vinegar, and LOTS of oregano(80% opaque layer).

Sweet onion chicken teriyaki on Italian. Provolone cheese. Microwaved (not toasted, there's a huge difference, morons). Light lettuce, green pepper, pickle. Sweet onion sauce.

Roast Beef with pepperjack cheese, no mayo, mustard, lettuce, olives, pickles, onions, and extra bell peppers. No salt or pepper or oil or vinegar. Wheat bread, not toasted.

Relatively healthy and tastes excellent.

It's Subway. No matter how hard you try, your sandwich will taste exactly like all of the others that they make. Everyone knows this.

Italian bread
Chicken breast
Bacon
Toasted
Lettuce
Tomato
Mayo
Honey Mustard
Salt & Pepper

Chicken breast + bacon = WAY better than their chopped-up chicken & bacon.

Whole Wheat (or white, depending on mood)
Pizza Sub
Mozzarella
Lettuce
Tomato
Green Olive
+++++ Hot Peppers
Load up on the sauce
Heat/Toasted

$5 for a sub isn't even cheap. Sorry to be the first to "subway sucks, mom & pop places are better" in this thread, but local sub shops here, even the local grocery store, have TWO foot long subs for under $10. And their subs have twice as much meat on them. (Sadly, the place that makes the best roast beef subs I've ever had has gone the subway route in regard to skimpiness of cheese.) $8.49 and one sub is enough for me and my wife for dinner, with a piece leftover for lunch or for a treat for the dogs. (minus the onions, of course.)

You would love the roast beef subs I get then. Fresh baked homemade whole wheat rolls. The roast beef is slow roasted on premises - not purchased from some wholesaler. Perfect medium rare throughout. Nice and lean. And, there's about a pound of roast beef on a sub. And, you can get them toasted in the oven for a nice, warm sandwich. Fresh lettuce, tomatoes. Since there's enough meat to give the sub flavor, it's not necessary to toss in a shitload of things like green peppers, jalapenos, etc., so that you can taste something other than the bread. i.e. subway

pastrami is good, but the places here pretty much only offer it as the supersized version.

This is the first thing in the thread that sounds inedible.

I guess there must be places on the planet which doesn't have sub shops. DiBella's is ten times better, and Wegmans (a local supermarket chain that Pizza would know) which isn't quite that good is far above Subwhey, but then again what isn't?

Blech.
