Cold fusion is a bit misleading.
I also am a Technology Connections enjoyer. I don't necessarily think of him as a "tech" channel though, despite the name. Modern tech is generally uninteresting, I'm more intrigued by esoteric old tech, so also watch Techmoan, Nostalgia Nerd, etc.
Nah, some of us want AI out of personal life, and to stay where it's useful (protein folding, for example).I mean, I hate to say it, but what else new IS there these days? A.I., smartwatches, phones, VR, computers, cars, etc. are all somewhat mature at this point. My phone is pre-COVID & works like a champ. AR glasses will get good & AI will get better, so we'll all be zombies at some point lol.
Many have said G search has gotten worse in recent years. I wouldn't really know, because IMHO DDG is close enough that I use it for 95% of my web searches over time. A lot of useful information is hiding in Reddit these days.Nah, some of us want AI out of personal life, and to stay where it's useful (protein folding, for example).
Edit: as a matter of fact, I just this moment decided to switch my default search to DuckDuckGo solely because I'm tired of the stupid fucking AI summary on Google.
Yeah, adding "reddit" to a search has been useful for years.Asianometry is pretty good.

Not sure if you're aware, but DDG has ai also, though you can turn it off in the settings. I did. I'm hoping it saves some cpu cycles, but I don't know how it's implemented. Otherwise, I found it easy to ignore. I left it on for awhile in case it was useful, but you can't trust anything it tells you. No matter what it says, you have to do a proper search to verify, so you might as well do that in the first place.Edit: as a matter of fact, I just this moment decided to switch my default search to DuckDuckGo solely because I'm tired of the stupid fucking AI summary on Google.
I hadn't noticed it yet, did a test search, I suppose that's the "Assist" thing part way down the results list? That's at least more palatable because it's not at the very top before any actual search results. But I have turned it off as well now.Not sure if you're aware, but DDG has ai also, though you can turn it off in the settings. I did. I /think/ it may be at the top, or in a sidebar, but I don't remember. Like I said, I found it easy to ignore. It also isn't posted on every search. You only get an ai answer if they think it's useful by whatever metric they use. You won't see it all the time, even if enabled.I hadn't noticed it yet, did a test search, I suppose that's the "Assist" thing part way down the results list? I haven't had any form of TV service in a decade. I get my science content via SciShow on YouTube, or Veritasium, the occasional PBS SpaceTime or Eons..."Channel" still mean tv channel to me. Yes, I'm old. I love the Science Channel. At least it hasn't gone the way of TLC and others.
I don't think I ever watch ever watch Us-tube - except on occasion when I watch something posted here.
