I've seen it deep fried mostly. tastes not bad, eating the whole thing like this is a little time consuming though..

Remove the tilapia from freezer, thaw, then put it in the cat's bowl. Then go out and get some salmon fillets, and place them in an oiled pan. Rub the top lightly with olive oil, then sprinkle Old Bay on top. Roast in the oven until heated through. That's my favorite tilapia recipe.

Only way I've it was cooked in butter in a pan, too oily and bland for me. I imagine breaded and fried would be much better, or get salmon.

I'd be curious as to the source of the Tilapia that you consume?. My local store has a great deal on individually-packed fillets but there's a catch ... the fish comes from China.

One of my favorite ways to prepare most fish is to:

Step 1: Thinly slice some white onion and some tomato.
2: Place onion slices on fish filets then tomato slices on onion slices.
3: drizzle olive oil
4: broil
5: ...
6: profit enjoy

Tilapia is incredibly bland which leaves you with two options: Either you use it in recipes with very little flavor so that you can taste what little seafood taste it has or you use it in recipes where other things pack a lot of punch and the fish acts as little more than an almost flavorless protein.

Personally, I'd go with option two. Batter it, fry it and make fish tacos.

Tilapia is one of the blandest fish out there.
The good thing about them is they don't have to be fed other fish so they don't concentrate bad things like other fish do.

No way ...

It's labeled Honduras. Local Fairway store is good at stuff like origins.

Parmesan encrusted tilapia is pretty good. Google it for some great recipes. It's also good to use for fish tacos. Fish tacos are the best.
