Your favourite OMFG moment in Gaming

Easy... when I tried to launch into a quick game of Battlefield 3, and ended wasting 15 minutes updating Origin and the game launcher just to get in the game. After that, I quickly got sniped 3 times within 45 seconds before I could find cover.

I thought... OMFG, first person shooters really suck nowadays.

oh wait, if you're talking about a 'moment', it'd probably have to be KotoR 1 'moment' for sure. Also the first time I played Everquest 1 (in beta), when I was running through the dark elven forest at night, with a few other people in my group, listening to their footsteps, that totally floored me (before that, I played text MUDs).

Far Cry 4..right when you beat the prologue and step out into the open world for the first time.

WOW..it's gorgeous.

The sunrise in the first level of Crysis. Still remember how amazed I was during most of that game - especially at how light interacted with the vegetation.

More recently, I had the same type of feeling walking through the cave in Dear Esther.

When you first escape Helgen in Skyrim and are free to explore the world. That game blew me away by just how gorgeous it was. Think I spent more time just wandering around than actually questing.

In the same vein, Fallout 3 when you first emerge from the Vault. I think it must be a law that all Bethesda games start with you imprisoned somewhere.

From the first game, Andrew Ryan's death.
Bioshock Infinite's trippy ending.

First time I played Wolfenstien 3D and Doom. Those games were unlike anything we'd seen before up to that point.

Trudging through a mountain pass in Skyrim, the wind and snow blowing, then the music kicks in. Have not played another game that could meet Skyrim's depth of immersion.

Trying to figure out who works at Affinity Wards and makes these COD games.

I just got the $20 deluxe edition of BO2 and it plays absolute perfect on a 2008 based x4 9150e with my 770. Talking like 75fps minimum with well over 100 average with hikes up to 150 or so.Smooth as butter.This is on multi player as well here.

BO1 being 2 years older pretty much tanks as low as 25fps,averages maybe in the 30s and might top out at in the 50s. Stuttering,festering inconsistent pos in comparison

I know the COD series has some lemons but holy hell, how the hell is BO2 running smoother then the 2005 based BF2.Pretty much every other game tanks on this cpu.

day of the tentacle was basically 100% wtf. there's like, 3 solutions out of 100 that require logic, the rest is just insanity.

so, that makes it 97%. i guess, math.


oh and that bit in Prey where your girlfriend gets turned into a horrible robot. that was pretty bad too.


on the other hand, in the first Command and Coonquer, when Kane murders Seth by shooting him in the head, *while* you are talking to him.

That i am not sure of, i haven't really followed the series much.I pretty think you could be right about the studios giving the entirely different experiences i have had with these 2 games.
