Actually was my wife's car-1968 Opel Kadett stationwagon, white with red leather interior, cost $265 very, very used. Was a real Opel (German) but in sad shape-the steering was messed up so that you could turn the wheel 1/2 turn either way before anything happened. The rubber boot around the floor shifter had rotted away, and you could see the ground rush by through the hole in the floor (we wrapped a rag around it in the winter). Was very, very light and the midwest crosswinds used to send this car sailing from lane to lane. Just before it finally died, it blew a seal and lost all its oil. I filled it up again, and put in at least a quart every day (40 miles) for 2-3 weeks. Every square inch under the hood would be covered with oil or have a standing pool of oil, but the dang thing kept running. We ended up putting 100k in miles on this car while we owned it, with next to no repair costs.
It was a POS and a death trap for sure, but a great car with a great soul.
