Back in high school I won several regional Magic: The Gathering Tournaments and even went to a Pro Tour.

Aww, I was sort of hoping for some sort of dark history!

Still, pretty cool. Having had a number of government contracts, I can imagine they have a... very specific way of doing things.

That game was beyond stupid. All the filler baddies besides the foot soldiers were weird/strange and never in the show. The game was horribly balanced. The only reason you weren't playing donatello was if he was low on health because the other ones blew. The only time you played Ralph was if you were in such deep crap with your other three turtles health bars that to take another hit with one of them would mean death. It was also hard as fuck and if you ever missed a jump and had to double back, ALL the enemies had respawned. (but never the life healing pizza's, of course). I was regarded as a legend in my first grade class for beating that damn dam level. To take down the technodrome should have gotten you your own statue for pete sake.

I could beat the dam. Did it all the time. Never got very far past that because I didn't actually own the game.

Now, you referenced the missed-jump-making-you-double-back problem. I think you're specifically talking about an area just before the underwater part.

Back in the mid 80s when I raced mountain bikes for fun I took fourth in the Chequamegon short and fat. Notable about that year for me was the amount of mud. There was something like 11 inches of rain the week of the race. I also wiped out 2 or 3 roadies who tried to draft off me (the 2 groups were pretty competitive with each other back then). Took first in a few Disc golf tournaments (not pro). Led the lead guild on an Everquest server for a year.

Big whoop. Me too, but the rest of the game is practically the entire game and I always lost interest. I was just not nearly as fun after you lost the benefits of clear progression, ramping challenge, and reward.
