I generally despise fads. People who cling to them are unoriginal and boring. Here are my least favorites.

1. Cupcakes - What a stupid fad to pay $3 for a cupcake. Even more annoying are all the suburban housewives starting these cupcake shops.

2. Zombies - I don't get it. I see zombie parades. Zombie branded ammunition. Zombie parties. Why?

3. The 1890s handlebar mustache. Does not compute.

4. Bacon - It's not even that good. Will corp American please stop putting bacon on everything just to get a rise out of people for publicity?

5. "Cool" nerds - Since when is it cool to be a nerd? Anyone who says they're a nerd, is not a nerd. Real nerds don't know they're nerds.

6. People that dis things that are popular to make themselves look more rational than other people.

1. High-waisted pants. They look like granny underwear. They've been popular with celebrities in recent years. Looks weird.

2. Hashtags, in general. I don't mind them properly placed, or for comedic effect (i.e. #firstworldproblems). But people use them in really weird places, or put like 200 of them on their photos, and it's just weird.

3. MLM's & selling to friends. I have a couple friends who get sucked into this stuff all the time. I hate it when people sell when you're just trying to hang out. Buy some acai berry juice & essential oils! /unfriend

Yeah, lol. The women selling the Scensy candles or Mary Kay (which seems to be making a comeback).

The funny thing is, I'm pretty much for ALL of those things. I'd rather have one amazing cupcake than half a dozen mediocre ones, plus cupcakes are awesome so the more the merrier! Zombies are great...Shaun of the Dead, Walking Dead, etc. It's just a fun concept like bacon that never dies. Bacon is great, can never go wrong there. The handlebar mustache, I dunno...works on Ron Swanson, that's about it.

The cool nerds thing, mixed thoughts. There are those girls who will put on thick-rimmed glasses #suchanerd #glasses #bleh, but being a geek is actually kind of "in" lately thanks to the prevalence of technology & shows like the Big Bang Theory. I get more attention at work than I did even five years ago because being an IT guy is more accepted now as a serious job for quirky people, rather than Mordac the Destroyer. Plus, pretty much EVERYONE relies on technology these days & wants to be your friend for help, haha - computers, tablets, smartphones, streaming television boxes, you name it.

Yeah, and it depends. Like, I don't mind Mary Kay because my wife likes their stuff (apparently it's a decent product), but we had one of her friends over for dinner (who was extremely successful at it & got the "pink car") & she started trying to sell ME stuff (I didn't know they made men's care stuff). I just dropped my fork and stared at her disgusted. I hate having to explain that I don't like my friends selling me stuff in my personal time in my home; it should be obvious that you shouldn't cross those personal lines of integrating friendship with uninvited selling, but I guess it's not all that obvious.

As you typed that message, were you eating bacon, while wearing your "Keep Calm And Carry On" t-shirt and watching your zombie movies?

Yeah. It always leaves people in awkward situations when their friends try to solicit them or invite them over for "selling parties." They want to be polite but don't want the cheap crap they're selling. I see it at work with the ladies.

Overpriced men's skinny jeans. Women's jean on men is not flattering.

Skinny jeans for men and the $200 jeans fad is fading a bit. It's still around but not as much as it was 5 years ago.

But they're not so much overpriced, just over engineered. I enjoy them, but really, who needs rare or exotic material in your denim? Zimbabwe cotton? Japanese looms? I've even seen denim with cashmere knitted within it. I like them, but I understand why other people don't like them.

Keurig machines: terrible coffee and wasteful plastic cups.

Fedoras: I own a 1960s era fedora that belonged to my grandfather and I wear it in his memory. It's also one of the few hat styles that suits me. Then the damn hipsters had to come in and make them douchey.

Pickup trucks: Ever since SUVs became the new minivan, every pencil dick emasculated loser started buying pickups. They can't drive them and they definitely can't park them.

except most of the ones wearing yoga pants are the ones that should not be wearing them...

Remember the Lululemon see-through scandal. Spandex turns transparent when you stretch it too much. D:
