My wife and I were discussing this a little bit ago. She got her hotmail account in 96, and I believe I got my yahoo account in 94 or 95.

Beat that noobz!

I've had Hotmail since 95 or 96.

edit: I don't know why I posted in here. Within 5 posts some ATOT member's going to be in here claiming to have an @darpa.net email from the 60's.

I still have my personal email address from my first ISP, a local provider that's since been bought and I stopped using when I switched to DSL, except for $5 a month for the email address.

So, circa '93 or so. Maybe '94.

Just now thinking about canning it.

So is my wife. They changed it recently and she doesn't care for the interface any more. I don't use my yahoo a lot (mostly registration info), but I keep it for the old skool internet cred it gives me.

I think I have had my hotmail since around 1996 and my yahoo from 1998.

Oldest email I still have in my inbox is from 6/15/2000.

Yahoo account since about 1997. I think it's still alive, I should check.

Edit: bah, they finally shut it down due to inactivity, I guess.

I have a juno account from ~'95 or '96 still active. Spammed all to hell though. I use it to sign up for useless crap usually.

Hotmail account, which I never use anymore, since ~98 or 99. I used this local crappy ISP e-mail account before that, but they went out of business.

When the company first put in email in the mid to late 1980's there was only five of us who wanted it. There were no "standards" so we got email addresses of <firstname>@<companyname>.com. One of the five was the netadmin who had to figure out how to get a domain name assigned.

Of course, hardly anyone had email so there wasn't a whole lot of activity. We used it to correspond with our CAD software vendor about how to do certain things and subscribe to a listserv (they were pretty new at the time) for DCL programmers.

We have more than 1,000 people now with email, but I still can receive email at my original email address even though I can't put it on my business card, since we've long ago all been issued "standard" email addresses. But the original one is always good for a laugh when I have to give my email to a salesperson. They don't believe I could have an email address of just my first name in a company our size.

I believe you are the winner, unless of course a darpa.net account holder DOES show up!

i've had a yahoo account since 99. was one of the first to get a 6MB account. i remember laughing at my dad's 2MB hotmail account. when gmail came out in 2004, i switched and haven't looked back. i still have it, cause a lot of my family have that email address. it's where i get all the junk mail (the latest chain letters and whatnot) from family.

i check it once a week or so. gmail is my primary email account.

edit: cool. my evil 6666 post!

I still use an MSN email that I got when we signed up for Verizon DSL a few years back... I think it was 4-5 years ago maybe.
