I have a Samsung SyncMaster 150MP. i have been very pleased with it, although I have never really compared it side by side with anything. they are a little pricey, though.

Hmmm...I just discovered that Sony has a couple of ~$500 LCDs. They look nice and I would assume that they are pretty good quality.

I think those might be what I'm looking for, but I will definitely look into any recommendations. I hate reviews/comparisons though...looking for personal experiences if at all possible.

The Sharp LL-T1620B, which is a 16" flatpanel costs ~$510 @ Dell Home.

Any thoughts on it?

Have you had a look at the Samsung Sync Master 152T.....
dual input, thin chasis design........
was just shopping for LCD recently........and I cosidered it......

How does RGB stack up against DVI?

Obviously, it's quite nice if there is an RGB option, because it allows for cheaper cards, but is it worth the sacrifice or is DVI the only way to go?

re: sony ...because they tend to use LG Philips panels which leave a lot to be desired... Sony makes good monitors (check my sig but I wouldn't buy their LCD unless "brand name" was the main factor.

Samsung is sort of 'king' in my mind in the LCD world... I really dig the Samsung 151S

Sony doesn't doesn't make LCD pannels ...most of there LCD pannels Sony uses in their flat pannels are made by LG-Phillips LCD....
There stuff is solid, it works its is reliable but there is plenty LCD moniters which
If you were the buy a LCD.....Samsung could arguable be the king........

I would get the newest 15inch Samsung which is the Syncmaster 152T... Its picture quaility is really good.....The 152 series is just the improved version of the 151 series...mainly with a better contrast ratio and higher birghtness.......

About DVI...
RGB===> you mean the 15pin D-sub mon connector.....
Almost all 15inch mons support it..........
If you are talking about the Eizo 375 which only has 2 x DVI terminals......It still supports the 15ping D-sub Mon connector....It comes with a 15 pin d-sub ===> DVI-I cable as well as a DVI-I to DVI-I cable..........
The perfomance of the standard 15 pin cable and DVI at 1024 x 768 is very similar......(at least with high quality LCD mons).......
with cheapers stuff, you might run into trouble with phase issues......


So which is the best 15inch LCD..... I would say its going to have to be the Eizo L365 / L375..(but the price is completely off the scale)

Thank you all for the input. After reading this stuff, I think the Samsung 152T might be the way to go. It still sells for under $500, which is OK.
