Anyone have some tech confessions they never told anyone before?
Do you secretly like something that may start a thread war or don't know how to do something that you should?

I'll start.
I like to go into Gamestop and look around, I like the atmosphere there. Same for Best Buy.

I don't use nor carry a cell phone. I got a Tracphone for emergencies but rarely have it on me.

I have always hated Windows OS and used to be extremely bad at wanting to reformat and reinstall all the time.

I called tech support for an HP computer once. But in my defense it was only to confirm that I knew more than they did. ...also, I asked a BB employee a question that I didn't already know the answer to.

I have thrown away perfectly good PC parts just because I didn't want to mess with selling them online. Like an Nvidia 580GTX.....Please don't hurt me

One time, a Circuit City employee talked me into getting a Voodoo 2 and a Voodoo 3 telling me I could run them in SLI...and I believed him. Took the V2 back angrily and lost $12 due to a "restocking fee".....god I'm so ashamed:$

This one I have mentioned here before but I purchased a Macbook Pro and took apart my gaming desktop and plan to get a PS4 for gaming instead. I will likely never go back to anything else. I know in some ways it's kinda a downgrade depending on point of view but I'm saving some space, noise, power and complications.

Anyone else?

I do that all the time. Though typically they are somewhat outdated, and thus wouldn't fetch much money even if I did take the time to sell them.

I used to be a Linux admin, but I hate the vi editor. I know how to USE it, mind you, but I still hate it.

I have a 105 story building in Tiny Tower. What a waste of time that was.

My backup strategy is pretty lame... I just plug in a USB hard drive and copy over my files every few months. Again, I should really know better with my IT background, but it's been over a decade since I had a hard drive failure and I'm starting to get cocky about it.

Yes, I love technology, but not as much as you, you see... But I still love technology... Always and forever.

We never make coffee in the morning and let the IT guy do it. I joke with my other coworker when he is scooping the grounds, "look, Bob's installing Java"

I won't hurt you but I might get hurt dumpster diving. Where do you live and what else have you thrown out?

Oh those Circuit Silly chef boyardees. *shakes fist*

I once went there to buy a stereo receiver that they carried. I get there and there is one display model in silver but I wanted one in black. Asked the salesguy and he says let me check the computer see if we have it in stock in black. NOPE.

But one of our other stores does. Want me to ring it up for you here and you can pick it up there?

Sure. I pay, leave the store and go to the other store.

After waiting like an hour on the pickup merchandise line the other store says they don't have it in stock. I get a refund. I vowed never to shop there again. Lesson learned. Not in stock? No pay pay mofo. They were worse than used car salesman over there. Circuit silly ass mofos.

I have never owned a laptop. I could use one, would be nice, but never wanted one bad enough to spend the money on one. I do have one at work I use for surfing the web off the wifi, and I have my old work one still at home that I occasionally use if I need to console into a switch at home or something. (both are work machines) I kinda got lucky since my laptop got upgraded to the new core i5's right before I moved to this position, which I have my own workstation.

I will often go into Best Buy just to play with things.

I have broken a controller in a fit of rage. Though I was able to repair it.

I returned a GPU perfectly good to the store thinking it was broken (was crashing Windows) only to later realize it was an incompatible third party GPU monitoring app I was using.

I once set fire to a motor speed controller because I soldered on the battery leads backwards.

I have never backed up my desktop and my laptop only gets backed up maybe once every year.

About half the games I have in my collection I've never finished.

I sometimes tell people that ask me to fix their old PCs that they are broken beyond repair because I can't be bothered spending 2 hours doing a 10 minute job.

I sat an old, but perfectly good, 19" LCD monitor by the dumpster when I went to a 27" one. (just because I didn't feel like selling it, finding someone to give it to or taking it to goodwill).
