Cooler Master cases are decent for the most part.

For a basic build it should work.

What kind of a build are you planning on doing?

I plan on building a rig to plan games like WoW, play a little music, maybe watch a movie. Nothing overly taxing. I think it will be built around an AMD FX-6300.

For a cheap case and cheap 400W PSU at $80 Combo - No thank you - I would buy a Fractal Midi Arc 2 for $60 and descent 750W KMM3 BEFX XFX PSU for an additional $99 ='s Peace of Mind.

Z15CAM,
Didn't you see that I can get it for less than $30 delivered?

The price is pretty dang cheap that is for sure.

Cases are kind of a moot point as you only need one that is cosmetically pleasing to your eyes and will house your intended build.

Power supplies on the other hand are the heart of the system. Not really the best place to make a sacrifice.

its a very economy case.

Meaning you do get what you pay for.

Coolermaster makes great cases, and they make great budget cases.
With them i noticed you do get what you pay for exactly.

That being said, i have used there cheaper cases, and there not bad, but very limited in features.

If the features arent important, it should do its job.

CM makes bottom of the barrel junk, and high quality parts. I think most of their people can't hear past 1kHz.

For a gaming box, I would avoid any dirt cheap combos. Just a decent 400W PSU will cost $30 or more, unless you're willing to wait for the cycling of Corsair rebates (I guess they must sell enough of them at full price, or make it up with cases, because $20 CX430s have to be loss leaders).

Well thought-out.
The last case I bought from them was an elite 330.
was nice..
I have 6 cases on my floor..all empty.

This. If you expecting a cheap case with lots of plastic and thin metal, you will do fine. If you expecting a case that will last, be willing to spend the money.

Are you looking for a bargain or a decent case? Like the others mentioned, you get what you pay for. If you are a 'build it and forget it' kind of guy, a cheap case is only a problem during the build; if you are a 'build and tinker' kind of guy (I am...) then spend the money on a better case made with more robust materials and maybe some convenience features.

CM is like most every other mainstream builder... they build budget level boxes, and enthusiast level boxes. Fractal does the same thing... I've built in a Core 1000, a decent enough case and for $35 a pretty good deal for the budget build it holds. I also have 2 $100 Define Minis... the build quality and features easily eclipse the Core, but I was willing to pay for that.

It really depends on your intentions. A case is just a metal box (or metal/plastic combo) for the electronic components. It becomes an instrument for cooling with either air or water when you add the airflow considerations.

If you want "bling" or "style" you will pay more. And you should be concerned that computer upgrades can still be accommodated by the original case investment -- unless you want to sell it "used" to someone else.

That's what drives my priorities for spending money on cases. The CoolerMaster products on both ends of the scale will serve the diverse purposes at those ends.

Before you build in anything, though, check out the width. 200mm is the absolute narrowest case I will work in.

Sounds like a great deal, but i'm curious about the specs and manufacturer of the PSU. Even for a budget build it makes sense to me to get a decent PSU. Rosewill has some nice looking units that are inexpensive. I've also had very good experience with the Antec Earthwatts 380 green.

It is a cooler master PSU. They make good units.

They also make firefrackers in ATX PSU form factors . I haven't had, or even seen, a CM PSU take anything else with it, but their cheap ones do tend to be on the flakey side, IME.

If I bought a case with a PSU, I'd keep that cheap PSU spare for testing.

I use CoolerMaster cases all the time. Apart from the Elite 330 which had a very fragile power button, I've been happy with them.

I love CM cases. The HAF 912 is my favorite overall case ever, with the Antec 302 coming in close second.
