You're a drug kingpin whose empire has been infiltrated by police, what do you do?

You're the head of a medium-size drug organization. You just found out, after doing some background checking, that your new lieutenant is actually an undercover cop. He's been with you for a couple of months but doesn't know much about the inner workings of the organization. What do you do?

I refuse to help you finish your shitty screenplay.

OK fine, here is one idea: Make the mole, played by John Leguazamo(sp), give you oral for a week.

Then shoot him in the face. (not while giving you oral, could turn out bad)

Why kill him when you know the police know quite a bit about you and will rain storm on you? Isn't there a smarter way other than letting your anger control your response?

That's why you fire him. Any sensitive information's already been passed along, and his disappearance will make life hard for you.

When drug dealers "fire" you, it's usually at you, with some slugs, in the back of the head, in a back alley...

He's only there a couple months and already a lieutenant? Talk about moving up the ladder pretty quick. I would suggest better background checks of the references on his application.

You ask him "Are you a cop?" Because everyone knows cops must tell you that they are cops when asked or they cannot use any evidence against you in court.

That would be a dumb way of handling it. If that's the route you chose to take, an "accident" would be better.

Realize the error of my ways, donate all my money to charity, disband the organization, and go legit?

My point is this is a criminal enterprise. You don't just fire people and expect things to be good between the two of you. If they know a lot then you dispose of them. If they don't, you whip their ass and threaten to kill them or their family or you chase them out of town.

The problem "employee" isn't a standard associate though. It's a cop, and if anything bad happens to him, it'll bring a shit storm down on yourself. There's nothing to be gained by killing him, so the best thing is to let him go. If you really wanted to kill him, an arranged accident is better, so there's some doubt as to your involvement.

Edit:
Alternately, you can keep him away from the real business, and feed him misinformation. That could possibly turn a bad situation good.

Right, but, again, this is a criminal organization where trust is in short supply. If you let him walk out of there, he will return with his police buddies. Therefore, isn't it better to bribe him or for you to skip town? What's the point of simply letting him go when it means he'll return to have the honor of putting the bracelets on you?

Make him "disappear". Got to think like the good old South American drug lords.

Well, you're saying kingpin, so that implies a fairly large organization. The cops already know what you're about, and are just gathering evidence. If you tell him you're on to him, what's he gonna do about it? Either he has the evidence, or he doesn't. If he has it, they can bust you anyway, regardless of what you do to the cop. If he doesn't have the evidence, going to court and saying "narmer is a criminal because I think so" doesn't fly. It has to be proven.

Michael: Sonny …
Sonny: You're taking this very personal. Tom, this is business and this man is taking it very personal.
Michael: Where does it say that you can't kill a cop? … I'm talking about a cop that's mixed up in drugs. I'm talking about a dishonest cop and a crooked cop who got mixed up in the rackets and got what was coming to him. That'd make a helluva story. Now, we got people in the newspapers, right, Tom? They might like a story like that.
Tom Hagen: They might; they just might.
Michael: It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business.
