youre narrow brushes with death?

Hi heres my three closest calls. 1) I was 15, hitchhiking. got in an small rv, and the guy immidiatly put the petal to the metal and raced down the freeway at top speed. He hit a car and the rv actually went up on two wheels. the cops were miracoulosly right behind us. pulled us over, arrested the guy and drove me out of the city limits to catch a ride 2) went out on San Francisco bay on a nice day with my brother on a small skiff. In the middle of the bay the motor died and we were in the path of a HUGE frieghter.It wasnt going to stop. We woulda been pulled into its wake and pulverized by its props. A black guy in a nice little yacht from oakland just happened to notice us and and threw us a tow rope..me a BIGOT? I will F*in kill a BIGOT. 3) Cruising with a vetranarian friend, smashed outta our minds , rounding the bend at MT. MAddona(notorious for wrecks) in Santa Cruz, and i just missed a "head on collision"by no more than 12''... ended up plowing into the side of a vehicle- noone hurt.THESE WERE THE DAYS MY DEAD PET RETURNED TO SAVE MY LIFE

Well, once I drank about 40oz. of 100 proof alchohol in a one hour period. Some of my friend are still suprised I woke up. I was about 140lbs when I did this.

I once somehow managed to get an utility/x-acto knife burried entirely into my arm with the tip of it out the other side. It bled something fierce and now I have some rockin' scars that I can show off, it always makes a good story. It was very scary when it happed.

I was in a pretty bad car wreck...I almost got hit in the head with a huge log. I came out with whiplash, but nothing more. I've never been very close to death. I suppose this is good...

So this one day my friend dared me to drive to the peak of Mt. Everest. So I did. Then I jumped.

A week after an extrememly close friend died of cancer, I was at a party and drank half a liter of jaegermeister. I then promplty wandered out of the house and passed out on the nearest train tracks. A good samaritan hauled my ass into the nearest frat house and let me puke into tupperwear for the next twelve hours.

I was extremely inebriated with a friend when we wandered down the freight line to an overpass... we decided to see how close we could get to a passing freight for thrills.

I cut off a trans am which pulled in front of me at about eighty and slammed his brakes. I lost control of my 12 year old misfiring Ford Fairmont and hit a curb which spun us into a ditch and flipped the car. One guy ended up being thrown out the back window and had his shoulder turned to hamburger for his trouble.
I had to clear the airway of his girlfriend who had been munching a cookie. What saved my life is putting on my seatbelt about three minutes before the accident, though we'd been driving around all day without them on.... I saw the car afterwards, and can't believe we all survived.
My firends shoulder is a little achey in cold or wet but otherwise still perfectly functional...

hmmm two come to mind immediately,

1st was a car accident, I was asleep behind the wheel of a car, and went across the yellow line, damn near got into a head-on collision at 40mph, luckily I came too right before and swerved so we sideswiped, but that was pretty close, no got hurt thankfully,

2nd was at work, I worked a summer in a chemical plant bottling chlorine for pools, once by accident we made some chlorine gas, I ran away into fresh air immediatey upon realizing, but still, whoops


also some various alcohol related drinking way too much, but thankfully I have never done anything too stupid, mostly just lots of puking

I was doing some aerial advertising tows. We snag the signs on the fly at 60MPH with a grapple hook.
Picking a banner in gusty conditions, I got dumped down a bit lower than intended by a gust.
I hooked the tow bridle on the main landing gear and had a heck of a time climbing out. In fact, it wouldn't climb out. I was circling over the town off the end of the runway at about 150 feet. Got enough altitiude to get headed back into the runway, and landed with the sign still attached. It was all good on the way in, but having that sign on with no way to release it sucks

One time I fell off of a ladder on the side of a building I wasn't supposed to be on and landed on a pile of newspapers. If I had been six inches to my right, my head would have hit a three foot tall concrete wall before hitting the ground. Don't know if it would have killed me but I messed myself up enough. Always get scared when I think about that.
