youtube been slow

Is it me or has youtube been stupid slow (buffering often while playing)? Been like this a few days at least. I just did speedtest.net and I'm at 18Mbps/12Mbps so it's not my connection.

yep all the buffering you experience isnt a result of bandwidth issues on your end, its youtube's side that has throttling or bandwidth issues.

expect youtube to have a 'premium' subscription that will let you get 'premium' bandwidth to eliminate all the buffering and stuttering experienced with youtube standard.

id guess they would price it between two to five dollars a month.

kind of ridiculous that I can't even get through a 3-min video in 5+ minutes. Who even wants to watch any video with buffering like this?

Are you using Google DNS? I was having a similar problem with YouTube as well as AppleTV DL's & streaming using using Google DNS.

I thought it was only me with my fios. Even the lowest quality video thats 1 minute long takes 5-10 minutes to load during certain times.

Its bad enough at the youtube site, much worse if you are watching a vid at a blog site or something, just awful.

If the buffering is soo slow - install a youtube downloader. I can usually download a video faster then it will buffer.

FIOS = verizon fiber internet. d/ling defeats the purpose of youtube for me. I want instant streaming action. :hmm:

Works fine here but then again I stream 1080p in either vlc player plugin, windows media player plugin, or which ever better one that is out there at the time. I would use flash but why do that when I don't have to ? Yes I still have the same controls like full screen, stop, back, forward, able to choose different quality, etc. Works with all videos I have seen so far.

Wrong, I've been streaming 1080p videos all morning and there's about 1 second of buffering before the videos start. With no buffering during it. In fact I can't remember the last time I've had buffering problems on Youtube, and I watch probably 100 videos every day.

I'm watching 15 minute 1080p videos with no streaming, I just started a 1080 video, it started instantly and 33 seconds into it (5 minutes vid) it was fully loaded. Sucks to be you.
