If you have a YouTube account you can configure it to "always select higher quality" or something like that as a viewing preference. Then it'll load the best version if available. Sometimes the only difference you'll notice is sound clarity.
I must say though, that the high quality video likes abort during download, forcing multiple reloads. Guess the servers can't take the heat.
