YouTube to roll out six-second ads that you can't skip

Six seconds isn't long enough to bother with.

It's the 30 second ads on short videos that bother me. Usually if I hit one, I'll just close the tab and not even bother.

I run multiple tabs so by the time I go to skip an ad, 10 seconds have usually passed... I still skip them with 5 seconds left usually.

Hopefully these won't be in addition to the ad's they already show. I watch them all, but it will be shitty if I'm hit with another 6 seconds of ad's every videos because of people who run adblockers.

Why would I want to spend $10 a month on Red? So I can watch videos off line? I have You Tube Mate on Android, or Clip Grabber for my laptop for that. So I can watch videos of Pewds? Not interested.

I'm just tired of being nickle and dimed to death. $2 here. $5 there. $10 a month. It adds up. For me, it's not even worth it.

6 second adds don't bother me. YT needs revenue and this might be their best solution to date.

I pay for YouTube Red. It's well worth the money for me. I watch YouTube just as much as I do Netflix. I subscribe to channels and watch shows regularly.

I can see where it doesn't make sense if you just watch random clips.

You can't skip the normal ads for 5 seconds, so now this runs 1 extra second, but you don't have to reach for the skip button. I have my adblocker disabled on YouTube, and that's fine with me.

Youtube Red + Play Music subscription for $10 sound like a good deal... except Google Play Music app has horrible user interface and their library is far from the best.

As long as an adblocker can block it, I'm fine. Otherwise I just don't have the patience, especially for a video that I'm not sure about to begin with. There are tons of YT videos where I watch a few seconds, realize it's crap and exit...I'd really be pissed after watching an ad..6 seconds or not.

I keep getting the same ad on YouTube. The exact same advertisement over and over for the past few days. You'd think if I was logged into my YouTube account and chose to skip the advertisement once that YouTube would not show it to you again and again, but give you a new advertisement instead.

6 second ad is fine, but they need to turn the quality on those ads down to SD. I hate HD ads hogging the bandwidth and processing power and making a website slow in general.

Saw a blurb for an ad-blocker which supposedly will block this type of thing being promoted during installation on a K-Lite codec package yesterday. Skipped past it even though I believe it was free. May need to re-visit that decision!
