Honestly I wouldn't use adblockers if modern internet ads weren't so ridiculously annoying. The shit these people come up with is insane. To be honest 6 second ads don't bother me. What bothers me is when ads are disproportional to the length of the video that I'm watching. A 6 second ad for a 2 minute video is fine, but a 30 second ad for a 2 minute video is ridiculous. But to be fair YouTube really isn't as bad as some sites are. Having videos blaring in another tab or some other annoying shit when I'm not even watching videos.
Internet ads (for non video websites) should be like they were in 2004. A few banners with some animation and usually silent. Pop ups weren't even a big issue then unless you looked at alot of porn. Video related websites can either charge a small fee or run breif occasional ads that are in proportion to the video. Alot of people probably wouldn't bother with ad blockers if this were the case. I only started using them a few years ago.
