This afternoon I made a call to Pearson Vue to get a score report for one of my exams. Just after dialing, there was a click and then a foreign sounding ring tone on the line. A faster, higher pitched, double ring. Then this guy was a beautiful English accent answers. The hours of operation for the phone number are 7 ~ 7 Central time, so I was surprised to get someone so far away.
Has anyone else ever been diverted to a foreign country unexpectedly for a basic phone call? I would think that, unless these companies are using VoIP, these are some pricey calls. We've all been shuffled over to India for those technical support calls, or calls to cancel the AOL subscription that you made at Best Buy to save a few bucks... Just strikes me as odd?
